Miss Universe Expresses Grief Over Miss Venezuela's Death

Beauty pageant contestants are often seen as very competitive girls who would do anything to win but most often than not, they end up as best friends forever whose bonds are forged during stiff competitions.

When 2005 Miss Universe Natalie Glebova of Canada found out about the tragic deaths of the former Miss Venezuela & her husband, she did not waste time to write something about Monica Spear:
"It's been a sad couple of months with the deaths of close friends, and now I heard of another horrible tragedy.
Yesterday a beautiful woman and her husband got killed, leaving their young daughter without parents.
She was Miss Venezuela in 2005 the year I won, who made the Top Five in the contest.
Here she is in the photo with me
She is another young beautiful person who has been taken away too soon.
Hope the family will be alright and that Maya, her daughter, has a good life ahead."

R.I.P. Monica

Heaven will now have another beautiful angel

I just found out something about Monica so you will have an idea on who and what she is in person.

After winning the title of Miss Venezuela and competing in the Miss Universe pageant, the actress appeared in a half-dozen Spanish language soap operas, most recently "Pasion Prohibida" and "Flor Salvaje" on Telemundo.

Her brother Ricardo Spear Mootz said
"She was more interested in using her fame to help people than posing on the red carpet. She tried to raise awareness for domestic violence and autism and she took a youth with Asperger's syndrome to a Telemundo gala event.

"She was a person with dreams, and a person who worked really hard for what she wanted," he said.

He noted that the organizer of the national beauty pageant — known for its cutthroat competition — had called her "an angel."

"She was very humble," he said.
