Bohol's JAM 403 Mesmerizes in Maldives

JAM 403, one of Bohol’s most celebrated acoustic trio is back in town after playing a repertoire of mostly jazz & bossa nova for a month at the Ellaidhoo Maldives By Cinnamon, the undisputed unrivaled superior Maldives beach resort that offers the ultimate tropical vacation with its cozy accommodations and luxurious amenities.

Lead vocalist Krizia Marie Gango described the resort as an island paradise in Alifu Alifu Atoll surrounded by gently swaying palm trees, white sandy beaches and a turquoise lagoon.  She said JAM 403 was invited to provide the resort’s live entertainment through the recommendation of fellow Boholana Kelly Dee Borja who worked at the resort as Guest Relations Executive.

Krizia chimed in that she and bandmates JV Rama & Frank Ungab had the best time during their Maldives gig.

So how did JAM 403 Acoustic get the gig –of-a- lifetime? 

We’re talking about the entertainment for the high- profile wedding of   Ana Cristina Maria Roxas Ojeda, daughter of Mar Roxas’ sister Ria and Jose Lorenzo "Joey" Osmeña, son of Senator Sergio Osmeña III and Isabel "Bettina" Mejia Lopez that took place last Saturday in Panglao, Bohol.

JAM 403 Acoustic is made up of Boholano artists Krizia Marie Gango, JV Rama & Aldoes Lasaca who dish out bossa nova classics from Astrud Gilberto & Antonio Carlos Jobim.

They were performing at the Baybayon Restaurant of Alona Tropical Beach Resort Holy Week 2015 when the Osmenas who were strolling by Alona Beach heard them.

The Osmenas ended up getting a table as they were mesmerized by the talented Boholanos’ musicality and familiarity with oldies but goodies.

They were beyond thrilled when Senator Serge and his wife Bettina introduced themselves and asked them if they could perform on their son Joey’s wedding to Ana Ojeda. They could hardly believe their good fortune. 

Of course, there were some doubts and skepticism for the wedding was like months away and anything can happen but true to their word, the Osmenas contacted them again to confirm the gig.

Krizia, Aldoes & JV shared to me that they became instant fans of Senator Serge not only because he got them the gig but also because of the advices he and his wife shared with them regarding their repertoire and both really took time to get to know them as well.

JAM 403 performed during the welcome dinner tendered by the couple for their friends and families on the eve of their wedding. They thought that was it after they were done with their performance. Imagine their pleasant surprise when they got a call from the newlyweds’ family a day after the wedding.

Turned out that the bride’s mother Ria Roxas Ojeda was celebrating her birthday on Jan 31 and no less than presidentiable Mar Roxas requested that JAM 403 be contacted to perform for his sister’s intimate birthday dinner at Amorita Resort.
