2001 Miss Bohol Sandugo
Miss Valencia Jeany Justiniane
Miss Duero Vanessa Cadorna
(took over the crown)
After the pageant, Vanessa Cadorna quietly went back to her private life and landed a job as a bank teller at one of the financial institutions in Tagbilaran City. Although she was very happy to have placed 1st Runner Up to Miss Valencia, she was quite frustrated and disappointed. She was just a breath away from bringing back to her hometown Duero the crown and the prestige that goes with the title. She began thinking that perhaps, she would always end up as second best. Cases in point: She was Class Salutatorian of her grade school batch and she was also Class Salutatorian of her high school batch. Even during the Miss Duero Pageant, she was also the 1st Runner Up BUT Fate and Destiny intervened Here's theVanessa Cadorna Story
2002 Miss Bohol Sandugo
Miss Dimiao Cherry Mae Bacarro
Miss Tagbilaran City Costie Jephilin "Twinkle" Besas
Rhiz Nova Arenas won for Inabanga not one but two highly- coveted Bohol- based beauty titles back in 2004 . She was earlier selected as Miss Bohol Ubi Festival Queen and later on, captivated and enthralled the judges and the audience alike with an ample display of her pulchritude, poise and personality. She is not only one of my favorite Miss Bohol Sandugo titleholders but also one of my favorite emceeing partners Here's theRhiz Nova Arenas Story
2005 Miss Bohol Sandugo
Miss Panglao Anna Maris Igpit
Determined and Driven. These are the two words that would describe Anna Maris Arcay Igpit, the tall and dusky Boholana who first joined the Miss Bohol Sandugo Pageant in 2003. She finished as 1st Runner Up She competed again in 2005. This time, there was no doubt that she was in it to win it. Not only did she bag the Miss Bohol Sandugo crown but she also earned the right to represent the province in the 2006 edition of the country's most prestigious beauty pageant, the Bb. Pilipinas Beauty Pageant. She was crowned the 2006 Bb. Pilipinas- World thus becoming the first Boholana to win a Binibini crown
The very amiable and charming Joy Marie Maglajos never entertained any illusions when she competed in the 2008 Miss Bohol Sandugo Pageant. She was merely fulfilling one of her obligations as Miss Katigbawan, the highlight of the Katigbawan Festival held annually in her hometown Catigbian. But she clarified that she was in a competitive mode She was elated when the gown she wore won the Best Designer Award. After all, she designed the gown herself with the help of her pageant coach/ mentor. She was quite relieved with the award because it meant that she won't be going home empty- handed. Little did she know that she was going home not only with the Best Designer award but also with the Miss Bohol Sandugo crown and the prestige that goes with it. What made it more memorable was the fact that her town's entire LGU led by their beloved Mayor Roberto "BertSals" Salinas and wife together with a large contingent of supporters were there to witness her triumph Here is theJoy Marie Maglajos Story
2009 Miss Bohol Sandugo
Miss Tagbilaran City Daisy Jean Quilicot
She would always be an unforgettable Miss Bohol Sandugo because I was right there during her journey towards the crown. I was the emcee when she won the Miss CVSCAFT title in February 2009.
I was also the emcee when she represented her school in the Miss Tagbilaran Pageant in April 2009 and finally during the Miss Bohol Sandugo Pageant which I emceed with ABS CBN's Pinoy Big Brother Housemate Cathy Remperas Here's theDaisy Jean Quilicot Story
2010 Miss Bohol Sandugo
Miss Tubigon Amir Paraguya Sol
She defied all odds and snatched the 2010 Miss Bohol Sandugo crown from the frontrunners, a pair of statuesque and stunning candidates who ended up as her runners up. It was a well- deserved victory of course especially with the all- out support of Mayor William Jao and First Lady Eden Jao and the presence of a huge contingent of supporters from her hometown. But the lion's share of the credit should go to the Anyag sa Tubigon Committee that really prepared her for the big battle. All their collective efforts paid off. She became Tubigon's very first Miss Bohol Sandugo titleholder Here's theAmir Paraguya Sol Story
2011 Miss Bohol Sandugo
Miss Tubigon Farrah Mian
This delicate- looking beauty with the mesmerizing eyes and doll- like features was installed as the girl to beat when the list of official candidates was revealed to the public. With a couple of beauty titles already tucked under her sleeves and the rigid training that she already got from her town's beauty experts, she was more than ready to battle it out for the most prestigious beauty title of the province Before the night ended, Farrah had given Tubigon a back-to-back Miss Bohol Sandugo victory Here's theFarrah Faye Mian Story
2012 Miss Bohol Sandugo
Miss Jagna Idy Casenas Cagas
Idy Casenas Cagas already won a region- wide beauty search. She was crowned the 2006 Miss CVRAA (Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association), a pageant that was marred by the unbecoming and unladylike spectacle of two candidates who were openly showing their mutual dislike for each other by getting physical onstage infront of the stunned audience and dumbfounded judges Anyway, Idy Casenas Cagas became the fifth Jagnaanon beauty to win the Miss Bohol Sandugo crown Here is theIdy Casenas Cagas Story
REQUEST: Can anyone send me the crowning pictures of 2000 Mellanie Wallace ? I have received a lot of requests in my email for the Year 2000 Queen By the way, here's the link for the complete list of winners:
Today is July 1 2013. It is a very important date not only because it is the 47th Charter Day Anniversary of Tagbilaran City, the capital of our beloved Bohol but also because it is the kick- off date for the month- long celebration of the Sandugo Festival which commemorates the first international peace treaty
One of the highlights of the celebration is the selection of Miss Bohol Sandugo.
Who will be this year's lucky girl? More on this in an upcoming feature on the candidates
It was Friday, July 18, 2008 and inside the refurbished Bohol Cultural Center, there was palpable excitement in the air.
Of course, it was understandable since the annual search for Bohol’s fairest had a three year hiatus thus giving Anna Maris Igpit, Miss Bohol 05, the longest reign ever since the pageant was renamed Miss Bohol Sandugo.
Naturally, pageant fanatics were so eager and curious to find out who will fill the big shoes left by Ms. Igpit, the first Boholana to win a Binibini crown when she was proclaimed the 2006 Bb. Pilipinas- World It was a year of outstanding girls also who came from all over the province
TRIVIA : The 2008 pageant has the distinction of being the first Miss Bohol pageant to be held in an air- conditioned venue.
SIDENOTE: The 2008 edition of Miss Bohol Sandugo was to be the first of four consecutive years of hosting the pageant for your blogger. The last time I hosted it prior to 2008 was back in 2002. In between, I had the opportunity to host the 2003 and 2006 editions of Miss Bohol International
The brilliant and very talented Alexis Cadelina of Jagna choreographed and directed the pageant for the first time. He has been handling the pageant for five consecutive years already and still counting

She was selected by her municipality as the town’s candidate after winning the 2006 Miss Katigbawan Festival Search which served as the highlight of the Katigbawan Festival which takes place every 3rd week of June of each year in celebration of the foundation day of Catigbian every June 17.
Joy Marie's kababayans led by Catigbia-an's very supportive mayor, the Hon. Roberto Salinas popularly known as "BertSals" and the town's first lady Ma. Nerissa, witnessed her coronation as Bohol's fairest. Truly, a very proud moment for Joy Marie
Her spontaneity, refreshing candor and strong personality projection plus her innate grace and elegance won for her the crown in a very competitive pageant year
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTWhen asked for her most memorable moment during the pageant, Joy said it was winning the Best Gown Design Award.
It meant so much to her for she herself designed the classic black evening gown with assistance from her handler Louie
Presently, she is based in Manila where she has been connected with F2 Logistics Phils Inc for the past three years
Regarding her lovelife, she mentions that she is in a six year relationship.
Do we hear wedding bells? Joy replied with an enigmatic “ Sooner than you think Raul”
"Joy, I would be more than glad to emcee your wedding reception"
It is a pleasure to have met and known Miss Joy Marie Maglajos, the second Catigbianon lady to win the Miss Bohol Sandugo crown after Jenifer Ejoc who won the crown back in 1999
