Congratulations Ara Arida 2013 Miss Universe 3rd RU

And we did it again! 

Congratulations Ara Arida for sustaining the Top Five placement of the Philippines in Miss Universe. 

After the decade- long drought in the world's most prestigious pageant, our country made its re-entry with the iconic Venus Raj in 2010, Shamcey followed it up in 2011 and Janine Tugonon gave an impressive fight last year

In Crocus City Hall, Moscow, Russia, right on the Miss Universe stage, another Filipina shone like no other and proved to the world that she can compete head toi head with some of the world's most beautiful women

Ara Arida, the 25 year old BS Chemistry graduate from UP Los Banos silenced her detractors by topping the swimsuit competition

She advanced to the next round and stood out in her canary yellow Evening Gown. 

It was a good enough answer in the Q & A that gave her a 3rd Runner Up placement. Congratulations again Ms Arida! 

You're a breath of fresh air and a ray of sunshine especially here in the Visayas where we have to battle it out with the elements too
