1st Runner Up was Miss Duero Meikko Magtahas, a half- Japanese beauty who wowed everyone when she greeted them in Japanese. 2nd Runner Up was crowd favourite Miss Baclayon Shiela Mae Rebostera. 3rd Runner was Miss Balilihan Venus Toledo who never had any prior pageant experience. 4th Runner Up was Miss Calape Christine Ancog.

Before the Announcement
Miss Dauis Gretchen Cimafranca who placed 3rd in Festival Costume, 5th in Sports Wear & 4th in Sports Interpretation would have made it in the winners’ circle were it not for problems encountered in the Opening Number.

She struggled in her heavy and elaborately- designed costume that even got snagged in the wires on the stage thus was unable to really perform during the production number.  She eventually placed 6th overall, just a breath away from the Top Five

Jesseth Sendrijas Pasagad Turns 18: Part Five

Jesseth Nez Sendrijas Pasagad who turns 18 a few days from now is the daughter of Zosimo & Aileen Pasagad of Bilar, Bohol.

Nez or Zen, as she is affectionately called, will have a formal coming out party at one of the posh resorts in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

EXTRAORDINARY

She is not your ordinary girl. She finished high school last year with high honors from Tagbilaran City Science High School. This June, she will be in her sophomore year at the Palawan State University where she is taking up BS Petroleum Engineering and is currently, a President's Lister (academic achievement)

The epitome of beauty & brains, she was also the representative of the Municipality of Bilar in the province- wide search for 2012 Miss Teen Bohol. She emerged 1st Runner Up and was declared Miss Talent in the same pageant

Her debut will have “Enchantment” as her theme

For this set of photos taken on location in Bilar, Bohol, the debutante shares her thoughts on enigma:

ON ENIGMA
I always take pride that I am a very transparent person. What you see is what you get. Now that I am turning 18, I guess I have to change a little bit of that.
I can’t always wear my heart on my sleeves. I have to leave a little mystery about myself. So that means I just can’t blab about everything and not be an open book.

There has to be a set of details best left unmentioned. Being enigmatic would definitely keep people guessing and I wouldn’t be too predictable and the aura of mystery would add up to an image of being a woman in control.

Of course, my mom & my innermost circle would always be privy to the most intimate details about me
This is the fifth of a series for the pre- debut shoot that we did for the debutante last May 7, 2014

Spongecola: Rocking & Rebuilding in Bohol

Hundreds died, thousands were injured and infrastructure worth millions crumbled down when Bohol was jolted by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake last October 13, 2014.

More than the loss of lives and properties, it was the destruction and the damage wrought on our centuries- old churches that really broke the hearts of Boholanos.

They were more than just symbols of our faith. They were part of our lives and until now, a sense of collective loss is still being felt by many

This is where Congressman Aris Aumentado, the youthful and dynamic 2nd District Representative of Bohol, came into the rescue.

Through a benefit concert series that he initiated & supported, he has been able to successfully raise donations to help rebuild some of the damaged churches from the Diocese of Talibon.

Dubbed Rock & Rebuild, the concert series was launched last May 23 with Spongecola, topbilling the event that was staged in Talibon, Bohol with K & N Productions of LJ Lumayag handling the event.

It was a memorable gig mainly because it was my first time to handle a concert’s directorial job

Georgia On My Mind

Nong Boy Castillo & I are not talking about the song nor about the Empire State of the South in the U.S. of A.

We are talking about the gorgeous Georgia Jauslin whose breathtaking blend of Filipino & European progeny is tempered with substance and pragmatism.

The beautiful AND brainy Georgia Jauslin has been getting a lot of attention lately especially in cyberspace for she is one of the hottest contenders in the ongoing worldwide search for The SWISS Explorer

So who is Georgia Jauslin? She is the classy and well- mannered lady who would always have Bohol in her heart for it was here in our beautiful island paradise that she spent her growing up years and early education. She embodies the modern- day girl who is free spirited, nonchalant, independent- minded and who speaks her mind out.

This 23 year old is no airhead. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Cum Laude, from the University of San Carlos, Cebu City.

Her natural flair for languages that includes English, German, Swiss- German and Filipino plus her talent for marketing, communication and writing landed her a job with Alliance Française de Cebu.

Right now, she is presently based in Zurich, Switzerland and enjoys her life as a freelance writer and lives live to the fullest.

FILM ACTING, MODELING & COVER GIRL

Aside from getting the lead role of a yet-to- be released American film, “A Faraway Life”, she was also selected for “IN THE TUB” portrait book, volume 2, part of a global campaign on breast cancer research.

I got a chance to check out her interview in Zee Style’s glossy April 2013 issue where she was asked how she sees herself five years from now, Georgia says:

“In five years, I see myself as a true world citizen – someone who has traveled the world; an enriched soul who has gained a deeper understanding of the things that truly matter.
I see myself as a successful writer, someone flourishing in the artistic field, even if these days, it is the road less traveled.”
