Candy Cumayas of Panglao, Bohol was selected as one of the six official representatives from Central Visayas who will compete in the national finals of the 2014 Mutya ng Pilipinas set on August 8, 2014 at the Solaire Resort & Casino

Candy competed in the regional preliminaries held in Cebu City yesterday. Aside from making it as one of the Top Six Finalists, Candy was also selected as Best in Summer Wear from among 16 beauties from Negros Oriental, Cebu and Bohol

After being discovered for Miss Panglao 2011, Candy has gone a long way and was even chosen as Miss Holy Name University 2013. She is presently managed by Rhigel Vir Dulfo of RMAB and plans to pursue her masters in Business Administration so she can concentrate in their family business in the tourism island of Panglao, Bohol

The Mutya ng Pilipinas crown has been elusive to Boholanas. The closest that a Boholana has made it was in 1996 when Noemi Naron of Baclayon, Bohol placed in the Top Ten and won Best in Long Gown in the national finals

Among the six finalists is Eva Patalinghug, Miss CVRAA 2008 and this year's Miss Cebu 1st Runner Up. Another finalist is Aivy Castro who represented Tagbilaran City in the nationwide search for Miss Beauche International 2013 where she placed in the Top Ten
