Hollywood's Most Stylish Icon: Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn considered as one of the greatest female screen legends in the history of American cinema was a British actress and humanitarian.

At the height of her popularity and active involvement in Hollywood, she was also getting constant recognition as an international fashion icon.

The very versatile and talented Hepburn is one of only a few entertainment personalities who have won an Academy, Emmy, Grammy and Tony Awards

Hepburn also holds the distinction of being the first actress to win an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award for a single performance: Roman Holiday in 1954

Her film appearances became fewer during her later years

She focused most of her later life to UNICEF and even lent her name and celebrity for the most marginalized countries around the world as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

She lost the battle with appendiceal cancer at her Switzerland home at the age of 63

FASHION ICON

Audrey Hepburn has to be the most glamorous actress to have ever graced Hollywood movies

When we think of style icons, it is inevitable that Audrey Hepburn's name is one of the first to come to mind.

She embodied elegant, feminine glamour and always made even the simplest outfits seem unique, choosing classic, clean contours that complemented her long, lithe frame.

To this day, her style is one of the most imitated, as she managed to balance her look between demure femininity and a more boyish silhouette.

My mom told me that the Sabrina neckline is  named after a famous dress Audrey wore in the movie Sabrina. Originally termed the boat neck, it became more popular as Sabrina after the movie of the same title was released

The Designer & His Muse: Hubert & Hepburn
Her designer of choice was Hubert de Givenchy, and they collaborated on many films including Funny Face (1957), Love in the Afternoon (1957), Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), Paris When It Sizzles (1963), Charade (1964), and How to Steal a Million (1966).

But their lifelong partnership was first established when Givenchy was given the task of assembling Hepburn's look particularly her clothes in Sabrina (1954).

Audrey Hepburn would always be remembered not only for her unforgettable films but also for her iconic sense of dressing: stylishly elegant and timeless chic which she pulled off effortlessly

Hollywood Icons: Elizabeth Taylor & Montgomery Clift

Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift. Two of my all- time favorite Hollywood icons.

These pictures that capture their youth, their beauty and carefree ways were taken at the height of their fame.

Their halcyon days so to speak. Although they never became an item, each was to become an important figure in each other's life.

The golden days. The epitome of vintage Hollywood glamour

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond "Liz" Taylor, DBE (Feb 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011) was a British-born American[2] actress.

From her early years as a child star with MGM, she became one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood's Golden Age

As one of the world's most famous film stars, Taylor was recognized for her acting ability and for her glamorous lifestyle, beauty and distinctive eyes.

In her final weeks, Elizabeth Taylor had a lot of friends drop by her room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

"We talked about how it's really hell getting older," says Debbie Reynolds, who spoke to PEOPLE about her onetime rival and longtime friend. "We were complaining to each other about that, like two girls would."

But on the last night of her life, it was only her four children who were by her side as the last true Hollywood goddess passed away from congestive heart failure on March 23.

"She was comfortable and it was peaceful and she was surrounded by her children," says her close friend Sally Morrison, who also shared her fond remembrances of Taylor, 79, with PEOPLE.

Taylor, who in her unpredictable eight decades essentially invented the modern celebrity, had survived several brushes with death, including an emergency tracheotomy in 1961 and cardiac surgery in 2006. When she was hospitalized this February, she fully expected to cheat death once again.
