A Most Relaxing Lunch at The Bellevue Panglao Resort

Dining at The Bellevue Resort’s Marea Al Fresco Restaurant would always be a delightful, filling & relaxing experience.

And why not? Aside from the array of scrumptious gustatory delights, its frothy fruit & herb combo thirst- quenchers collectively known as Bellevue’s Healthy Drinks plus the widest selection of international wines, one also gets an unhampered view of the resort’s spectacular beach front.
  Bellevue Resort's breathtaking view
It was exactly that kind of ambience that Your Blogger savored one memorable lunchtime a few days ago when he tagged along with Bohol Chronicle’s lifestylebohol section editor Sonieta D. Labasan and fotog Arch. Vincent Anthony Manding to interview Bellevue’s main man Rommel Gonzales on their upcoming sports activities and related events.

Our group caught up with Bohol Tourism Office’s Jo R. Cabarrus, Emmylou P. Noel & just as they were about to order from the menu. We ended up occupying one table since we all came to talk with Sir Rommel who shared with us his insights on tourism and the environment and how the resort has tackled and responded to concerns in the local community setting. At another table, we also espied the bubbly Vera Villocido and the genteel Judith Bomediano. We had an obligatory "groufie" before said adieu to Bellevue and the wonderful staff there.

Since Your Blogger is not the adventurous type when it comes to food, he ordered the resort’s much- touted Boholano cuisine where the dishes were prepared with an extra twist. My personal fave would have to be the Boholano Pinakbet!

Sir Rommel assured us of their green’s freshness for the organically- grown Vegetables & herbs are sourced directly from the resort’s greenhouse just across the resort.

organically- grown vegetables & herbs are guaranteed fresh!
We sampled two of Bellevue’s Healthy Drinks

Aside from the Marea Al Fresco Restaurant, one can also check out the international cuisine as well as the reliable & familiar Filipino cuisine with your choice of an indoor or outdoor dining experience offered by the Lamian World Cuisine.  Light to heavy gourmet deli delights, coolers & other iced- cold beverages are also served.

The resort also has its cocktail & beverage bars at the lobby, at the poolside and at the second floor of the Marea Al Fresco Resto where one can chill out with the rhythmic lapping of the gentle waves while waiting for dusk to set in and welcome a romantic & cool breezy evening.

Upon arrival at The Bellevue Resort in Panglao, Bohol, one immediately feels invigorated with the welcoming tropical breeze right from the impressive lobby and all the way to the reception area. The majestic resort reigns supreme this side of Panglao with its 159 luxurious guestrooms and well- appointed suites that are ensconced by a canopy of azure skies and surrounded by stretches of powdery white sand.

The family- oriented resort has a lot of amenities to make one’s stay truly enjoyable and unforgettable.

Bohol Chronicle: The First Fifty Years for Bohol's First & Longest Running Newspaper

the very first issue of the Bohol Chronicle
It all began in May 16, 1954 when the Bohol Chronicle released its very first issue of a community newspaper that has become a part of everyone's Sunday habit

Fifty years after and I got a call from and eventually a meeting with Peter Dejaresco to discuss the possibility of conceptualizing & organizing the Golden Anniversary Dinner Gala & Awards Night of the Bohol Chronicle.

Of course, I couldn't say no for after all, Sir Peter was my quondam boss when I was part of KISS 102.3 FM as deejay and announcer. I was also a regular contributor for the Bohol Chronicle as well

Imagine the thrill and excitement to be part of an event that will chronicle the 50 golden years of Bohol's most widely read newspaper

After all the important highlights were discussed and approved, I politely declined to be one of the masters of ceremonies for I believed that my full attention has to be focused as director of the live event to be held at the MetroCentre Hotel Grand Ballroom

Hosting the event were Ardie Batoy and Loi Palapos

The event was to be the hottest ticket that summer with no less than Luke Mejares, the Boholano lead vocalist of South Border, providing the entertainment for the evening

Atty. Zoilo Dejaresco Jr: Founding Editor- Publisher
The Bohol Chronicle has become what it is now because of its visionary founder, the late Atty. Zoilo Dejaresco Jr. Today, his legacy has been continued with two generations of the Dejaresco clan in the print and radio industry and has expanded not only with the bi- weekly newspaper but also with three radio broadcasting stations that have entertained and informed Boholanos for half a century already

Preparations are already afoot for the Diamond Anniversary set next year

Cheers!
