Rex Peter Calimbayan Places 2nd Runner Up In National Male Pageant!

Hail to the newest toast in town! Rex Peter Saletrero Calimbayan did his fellow Boholanos proud when he made it to the winner’s circle in the inaugural edition of the nationwide search for Gentlemen of the Philippines.

 The epitome of brawns, brains & breeding

Mr. Calimbayan, the 21 year old son of Rey and Myrna Calimbayan who represented Tagbilaran City in the male pageant that selects the country’s bets to several international pageants placed 2^nd RU.

Not bad for a newbie in the modeling and pageant scene. As runner up, he has to attend to various sponsor-related activities and be prepared to take over as Philippine representative in the event that one of the titleholders will not be able to assume the winner’s responsibilities.

Your Roving Eye believes that Mr. Calimbayan’s winning edge was not only his charming & globally- appealing features but also his spontaneity and the way he aced the Q & A segment where he impressed the jurors and audiences alike with his deep baritone voice , confidence and his answer that had substance & sense.

Way to go Mr. Calimbayan! Kudos also to Rhegel Dulfo, his mentor & discoverer who fielded him to the national search. The other Boholano bet, Carlo Roy Roslinda made the Top 20 and landed second in the Advocacy Speech category.

Bert & Teoding Pamugas Mark Golden Wedding Anniversary

She was from Balilihan. He was from Catigbian. Their paths intertwined when both taught at St. James College. Their love story culminated with a New Year’s Day wedding at the St. Joseph Cathedral in 1966. 

 Fifty golden years of enduring love & commitment

Fifty years after, six children and 14 grandchildren later, the golden couple Mr. Roberto "Bert" Pamugas and Mrs. Teodora "Teoding" Lacosta Pamugas,  renewed their lifetime vows in front of kith and kin at Our Lady of Lourdes Church a couple of weeks back to coincide with the Sandugo merrymaking and clan reunions. 

Maam Teoding shares that their greatest fulfillment is seeing all their six children become successful & productive citizens where they are based now and thriving in tyheir respective careers. 

The golden couple entertained their guests with a fellowship & thanksgiving dinner at Seglim/ Harbor View, Bohol Tropics Resort.

Their six kids Ma. Rhodora & family of Laguna, Engr. Roberto Jr. & family of Davao City, Dr. Reggie & family of Pasig City, Engr. Roger & family of Toronto, Canada, Engr. Roland & family of Michigan, USA & Roy Robert & family of Texas, USA who gave them 14 grandchildren came to join in the thanksgiving celebration.
