Who will be Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2022?

So who will be Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2022? It has been two years since the annual search for Tagbilaran's fairest was put on hold because of the covid19 pandemic.

To add spice and excitement to the pageant, Your Roving Eye is sharing his annual prediction list on the probable winners this year.

Last 2019, your blogger was able to predict correctly all the top five finalists including the eventual winner Celina Villoceno.

In coming up with my choices, I based it on wow factor, charm & personality and my gut feel. I also took into consideration their swimwear presentation and how the girls interacted with the emcees during the Talent Competition two nights ago.

Of course, this list won't have a bearing on the final results so just take it with a grain of salt.

So who are the frontrunners?

Here they are in their official glamshots from acclaimed Boholano photographer Chris Ramasola:

The heavy favorite among pageant experts & fans alike is TALOTO's Kyra Hopkins. She just need  to sustain the momentum and ace the final Q&A.
Another strong contender is COGON's Trishia Libres. She has one of the prettiest faces in this year's batch and has already competed in the national level when she represented Bohol in the 2019 Miss Silka Philippines search. She just needs to modulate her voice when she speaks.
Another strong candidate is MANGA's Claire Bagnol, the Megan Young lookalike and one of the tallest candidates. She has to believe in herself, boost her confidence and overcome her shyness.
DAMPAS' bet Mary Grace Reyes is one of the pleasant surprises this year. Very pretty, very conversational and showed grace & charm during the talent competition.
Rounding out my top five is the very classy & elegant Kyla Recio of MANSASA who was very poised and self assured everytime she was onstage.

Bubbling up in my list are TIPTIP's Ma. Bella Acero, POB III Antoinette Webb, POB II Claire Virtudazo, POB I Jesyl Calvario and SAN ISIDRO Tiffany Romerde who wowed the audience during the talent night with a show- stopping vocal performance.

In my opinion, that was genuine talent that needed no props nor backup to shine through.
So there. These are the ladies who I think will slug it out for the title. But remember, destiny, timing & luck will also matter a lot in beauty competitions.

Tonight, one of the favorites might falter thus making it possible for one of the dark horses or underdogs to sneak in and surprise everyone. In short, it's anybody's ball game.

There are so many factors to consider. Physical conditioning, picking the right question and giving a great response, the make up & styling and the composition of the judging panel.

So good luck ladies and may the stars align for you tonight.

Miss Bohol Triumph: The Secret behind The Success

Have you ever wondered why Tagbilaran City is reemerging as the beauty powerhouse of Bohol?

Back in the 90’s, it was Jagna that dominated the Miss Bohol Pageant. In fact, the town of calamay is the first & only town to achieve a threepeat victory in the province’s most prestigious beauty competition with three crowns three years in a row.

Presently, Tagbilaran looks like it will be achieving the next threepeat. And the answer lies with the very dynamic support system of Tagbilaran City Mayor Baba Yap.

First Lady Jane Yap has always been there not only to support the city mayor in his governance of the city but also to add the much- needed woman’s touch especially with her hands- on supervision and handling of the Mutya sa Tagbilaran Pageant.

With her team of dedicated experts, her support for the city’s representative to Miss Bohol has been astounding and winning three crowns in five years  speaks volumes about her support.

Newly- crowned Miss Bohol 2019 Celina Villoceno, revealed that the city’s all- out support plus the guidance of Mrs. Jane Yap spelled the difference in her now successful bid for the Miss Bohol crown.

Mrs. Yap’s commitment to the city and support for Mayor Yap doesn’t end with Miss Bohol but extends to enhancing the city’s culture & arts programs, addressing the needs of women and children, being an instrument for woman empowerment and being a dedicated wife & loving mother to her kids and the city residents.

Keep it up and more power Mrs. Yap! Cheers!
