My Friends in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014

I just realized that I have five friends from the 30 official candidates in the ongoing Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 Pageant.

The first one is Mutya ng Tagbilaran Candidate # 2 Dorina Losenada Doerr. The daughter of Klaus Doerr from Heidelberg, Germany and her Tagbilaran City- born mother Evelyn Loseñada.

She was supposed to represent Heidelberg in the Mutya as shown in the photo below but ended up representing Tagbilaran City instead which is for the best I believe. 

We also graduated from the same high school. 

Just this week, Dorina was proclaimed Miss Photogenic during the pre- pageant held in Sheridan Resort in Palawan

The next one is Mutya ng Daanbantayan Candidate # 5 Aivy Mae Castro who I met last year at the Solaire Resort & Casino when she competed as Miss Tagbilaran in Miss Beauche International 2013 where she ended up as one of the Top Ten Finalists

Aivy's potential hasn't escaped the attention of well- respected pageant blogger Norman Tinio who featured her together with Candy Cumayas in The Underdogs of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014

The third one is of course my special anak Mutya ng Bohol Candidate # 20 Candy Cumayas who is representing Panglao, Bohol in the pageant. 

She was picked by the management of Fisher Mall, venue of the Talent Competition, as the recipient of the Miss Fisher Mall special award. 

I have been with Candy from Day One when we discovered her for Rotary Santacruzan to Miss Panglao.

The fourth girl is Mutya ng Cebu Candidate # 22 Eva Psychee Patalinjug who I first met during the 2008 Miss CVRAA where she competed as a 13 year old from Lapulapu City. She won!

This year, she has been picked as Best in Swimsuit & Mutya ng Sheridan Resort during the pre- judging in Palawan. 

 

Finally, Mutya ng Davao Candidate # 28 Jovilyn Gavan was Miss Beauche 4^th Runner Up last year also at the Solaire Resort & Casino. I got to know her better when she flew in to join the Cebu Sinulog last January. 

I was appointed by Madame Che Toribio De Los Reyes to coordinate the Ms Beauche Beauties’ Visit to Cebu

   

I am praying that all five girls would enter the Top Ten and if it’s not too much to ask, may God make it possible for all five to be the last five girls standing but that would be wishful thinking.

Miss Beauche Queens Wow Sinulog Crowd

Miss Beauche Luzon Ashley Calimlim, Miss Beauche Visayas Krizzalynne De Mesa and Miss Beauche Mindanao Jovilyn Gavan were flown in from Baguio City, Quezon City and Davao City, respectively.

The two other winners, Anne Mabel D. Ubando of Dagupan City and Patricia Ramos of Manila couldn't make it because of other pressing commitments

This blogger witnessed how the three Beauche Ambassadors of Goodwill & Beauty were warmly received and cheered on by the Cebuanos and tourists who lined up along the parade route 

The more daring admirers of the three ladies didn’t waste time to have a photo opportunity with the ladies right on the float to the cheers and jeers from the crowd
