2018 Miss Bohol Girls Series # 2 Matahum sa Ubay

For the second straight year, the Miss Bohol girls get to be photographed right at their hometowns or city of origin. This is not only to get to know the girls better but also to showcase and promote  their places’ landmarks and tourism potential.

Ubay’s bet for Miss Bohol 2018 is 22 year old Anasela Zarisa “Mickay” Gaviola. She reminds me of Mary Jean MJ Lastimosa, the iconic Pinay beauty queen. The 5’ 6” tall beauty is the poster child for independence and resilience.
Beauty. Brains. Body

After finishing her high school studies, she went all the way to Baguio City to pursue a BS Architecture degree which she finished a year ago. Like fish to water, she thrived and managed to cope beautifully in a place that was far far away from home.

From her freshman to junior year, she was named as her peers’ year representative as well as club treasurer in her school’s Architecture Collegiate Society. Recognized for her friendly ways and leadership potentials, Mickay was also University of Baguio’s CFC YFC Campus Head.

Armed with a college diploma, she works for an architectural firm to learn more of the trade and to become financially independent.

During her college days, her beauty didn’t go unnoticed and thus got picked as one of the candidates for Miss University of Baguio School of Eng’g & Architecture where she emerged as 1st Runner Up.  She even qualified as Miss Baguio candidate and finished in the Top Ten.

Her biggest pageant triumph is winning the Matahum sa Ubay 2018 crown and earning the right to represent her town in the ongoing 2018 Miss Bohol pageant.

Who Will Wear the Matahum sa Ubay Crown for 2018?

The Matahum sa Ubay crown, designed and created by Shandar, represents the environmental, cultural significance, and mystical embodiment of the Ubayana beauties.

The crown is round to symbolize the cooperation and unity of all Ubayanons toward a universal goal of saving the environment of Ubay. The design also features two kinds of gems, the aquamarine beryl and the diamonds. The crown has 44 gemstones representing the 44 united barangays of Ubay. The central design is an upside-down droplet symbolizing an abundance of clean water, renewal, and change.
