Boholana Beauty Represents the Philippines in Miss SCUBA International 2014

Amanda Arbitrario
Panglao’s very own Amanda Arbitrario who bested a field of 12 finalists from around the country for the title of Miss Scuba Philippines 2014 is already in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia to represent the country in the Miss Scuba International 2014.

The beauty competition aims to drum up conservation campaigns to educate and inspire people to do their best in safeguarding the oceans, as well as underwater.

Considering that last year’s Philippine rep Christine Love Bernasor placed 1st RU, Amanda isn’t feeling the pressure. “I would rather focus on making friends and promoting my country’s dive spots and tourist attractions particularly Panglao and Bohol”.

At the same time, I want to enjoy this once-in-a- lifetime experience and   and be a representative that Bohol would be proud of”  Well said, Amanda!

Panglao Mayor Nila Montero is extending to Amanda the same support she gave to another Panglao beauty Anna Maris Igpit when the latter competed in Miss World 2006.
Amanda’s perfectly- timed victory in Miss SCUBA Philippines means that Panglao has found a spokesperson & defender of its aquatic resources”.
We are absolutely thrilled that another Boholana and a Panglaoanon at that is representing our country in an international contest. May she bring home the crown! Let us join hands as we pray for her success on Nov 28”

Good luck! Here’s another trivia for pageant aficionados: Amanda is the third Boholana after Anna Maris Igpit and Ella Buhion Evangelista to represent the country in an international pageant after winning or placing in a national preliminary.

Miss SCUBA Philippines 2014 Crowning Moments

If there is one person who is most happy with the recent victory of Panglao, Bohol’s Amanda Arbitrario in the recently- concluded Miss Scuba Philippines 2014, it would be Your Blogger.

I have seen how Amanda really worked hard to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a beauty queen. Right after the Miss Panglao 2011 Pageant where she finished as 1st Runner Up, I advised her to pursue her dreams and never ever give up. We kept in touch even after the pageant and up to the time she went to Manila where she won the Miss Caloocan 2014 crown.

Her Miss SCUBA Philippines 2014 title is a well- deserved victory and credit should go to her previous pageant experiences which gave her the ammunition for the big battle which she won convincingly.

To Amanda, the hard work has just begun. Aside from the promise to drum up conservation campaigns to educate and inspire people to do their best in safeguarding the oceans, as well as our diverse marine life, she has to prepare herself for the international finals scheduled exactly two months from now in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Her beauty, engaging personality, confidence &wit would surely be her aces in her mission to bring home the country’s first Miss SCUBA International crown

Here’s Amanda during the proclamation & coronation rites:

Cheers Amanda and Long May You Reign!

Miss SCUBA Philippines 2014 is Miss Talent

In a post in her FB Timeline, recently- crowned Miss SCUBA Philippines 2014 Amanda Arbitrario who hails from Panglao, Bohol mentioned how proud she was that aside from winning the crown, she was also selected by the panel of judges as Miss Talent.

Amanda wowed everyone with her vocal stylings during the pageant’s talent segment.

I still recall how she confided to me way way back then when she was competing in the 2011 Miss Panglao Pageant of which I was the pageant emcee that singing & performing for an audience have always been a passion of hers. Now that her singing talent has been validated by a panel of judges, I hope that she can parlay her Miss Talent award and national beauty title into a professional singing career.

Here’s Amanda Arbitrario who dazzled and mesmerized during the Talent Competition:
