It wasn’t the usual male pageant where the emphasis is focused on the candidates’ physical attributes.

Not that the candidates in the inaugural edition of Mister Ubay were lacking in the looks department. On the contrary, there were standouts in looks, height, physique and communication skills.

Sylvia Delmar Pilayre, Mister Ubay 2018 project chair stressed that the contest was to look for the complete package; attractive & charming, confident, with self- assuredness  & with a facility of the English language. After all, they were looking for a positive role model & spokesperson for Rotary of Ubay’s socio- civic projects.

During the pageant night, the audience roared in delight and adulation as the show opened with all nine finalists in a choreographed dance number followed by their individual introductions. The swimwear, career outfit, interviews, formal wear & talent segments followed.

THE GRAND WINNER Declared the first Mister Ubay was Ariel Cutanda  Rosales, 21 years old and a licensed professional teacher. The boyishly handsome winner impressed the judges and audiences alike with his self- assuredness and confidence especially during the interview phase of the pageant. He bagged most of the awards including Best in Formal Wear, Best in Career Outfit, Best in Prodn. Number & Best in Interview.

THE RUNNERS UP. Rounding out the winners’ circle were 1^st RU Stephen  Louie  Boyles  Dupalco, 19 years, a BS  Marine Biology student from the University of San Carlos. He also won Mr. Talent and People’s Choice Awardee. Named 2^nd RU was Joey Guno  Bitua, 22 years and a licensed professional teacher.  Marlo  Torrevillas  Golosino, 20 years and a BS Marine Transportation degree holder was 3^rd RU and Best in Swimwear. Julysis  Pulac  Satur, 24 years, a BS Ed student  was 4^th RU and Mr. Photogenic.

Philippine Bet in Mister Supranational 2016 Is from Bohol

There is a heightened anticipation among Boholano pageant watchers in the inaugural staging of the Mister Supranational pageant which kicked off a couple of days back in Nowy Sacz, Poland. The Philippines’ bet in the international male pageant that has attracted more than 30 gorgeous young men from all over the world happens to AR Dela Serna of Bohol.

The 6’ 1” tall Business Administration graduate & son of Albert Dela Serna and former Pob. 2 Brgy. Captain Glorivic Dela Serna from Tagbilaran City earned the right to represent our country in the pageant after getting selected during a nationwide search for Misters of the Philippines 2016.

The contest aims to discover an instant celebrity and new talents for television and the modeling industry. The winner  will be the young man with that “It factor” and charisma that could take him to stardom. He should also be someone capable of being a positive role model to people of all generations. The Mister Supranational 2016 delegates will be judged not only for beauty and personality but also in a photo challenge, on line interviews in which they will interact with their fans, and more.

The contest, co-hosted by Poland and Slovakia, including the cities of Nowy Sącz, Poprad and Krynica Zdrój, where the final televised telecast and production will take place on December 3 will be televised in over 30 countries and the winner will get 10 K USD in cash plus a modeling contract in Europe.

From among the 35 official candidates who have arrived in Poland, AR Dela Serna of Bohol, Philippines and the delegates from the United States, Brazil, Venezuela, Malta & Poland have been installed as the early favorites!

Two Boholano Gentlemen Vie in National Male Pageant Tonight!

Tonight, we shall find out if Bohol will have another national pageant titleholder this time in the male category. 

Two Boholanos who embody brains, brawns & breeding will compete with 28 eligible young men from all over the country and from overseas in the national finals for Gentlemen of the Philippines 2016 personality search to be held at the Trinity University of Asia Theater in QC.

 TAGBILARAN’S BET: Rex Peter Calimbayan & BOHOL’S BET: Carlo Roy Roslinda

Mr. Tagbilaran City is Rex Peter Calimbayan, 21 years old, 5’ 10” tall, a recent Nursing Board Exam passer & a part- time RMAB model. Mr. Bohol is Carlo Roy Roslinda, 27 years old, 5’ 10” tall, an events host who is pursuing his Doctorate degree in Nursing major in Gerontology. 

AR De la Serna, Bohol’s bet in another male pageant last year was selected as Mr. Photogenic and eventually finished as 2^nd RU. Seven titleholders who will represent the country in global male pageants will be selected after the swimwear, formal wear and Q & A segments.

Why Mr Switzerland is Mister International 2015

Just as we usher in the month of December, we also welcome the brand- new Mister International whose wholesome and dropdead gorgeousness fits the mold of the 10 year old pageant’s previous winners.

Pedro Mendes, Switzerland’s very first entrant to the pageant was not among the pre- pageant favorites but when he finally showed up especially during the Press Presentation, he was immediately installed by many pageant websites and blogspots including Your Roving Eye as one of the solid picks for the title.

Although Your Roving Eye is ecstatic that two of his final five bets were also the last two men standing, he still can’t get over that Spain’s journey would stop at the Top 15.

‪‎All 36 delegates appeared in their national costumes, red swimwear & formal wear during the pageant finals held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila before the field was narrowed down to the Top Fifteen, whittled further to the Top Ten before the Final Five were determined.

The rest of the Top Ten qualifiers were Venezuela, Australia, Indonesia, Puerto Rico and Philippines.

Those who made the Top Fifteen were Sweden, Lebanon, China, Mexico & Spain.

As in many contests, there would be heavy favorites who won’t make it like Dominican Republic and Italy who didn’t even advance to the Top Fifteen. Overall, it was a good show.

It was Mr. Australia who stole the show minutes before the emcees announced the results. The Thunder from Down Under felt a little woozy and so was helped off the stage by fellow delegates but he did come back just right after Mr. Switzerland was proclaimed the winner.

Congratulations to the winners and the organizers and as the contestants start packing up for their impending flights back to their respective countries, may their almost one- month stay in the Philippines be a wonderful stash of wonderful & happy memories

Meet the Top Favorites for Mister International 2015

After a series of preliminary events in the ongoing Mister International 2015 Pageant, , four delegates have emerged as the favorites to take it all. They are in no particular order:

Anderson Tomazini from Ilhabela who is representing Brazil in competition is a 26 year old Trader and a graduate in Public Administration

Pedro Mendes, a 27 year old Geneva- based international model is an electrician by profession. He traces his roots to Portugal

 AUSTRALIA

Chris Nayna is a 6’2” registered nurse and fashion model who hails from Vermont South, Australia and works at the Box Hill Hospital as cardiology nurse. The gorgeous 24 year old hunk with the wholesome good looks is the youngest of seven kids and a strong advocate for health, fitness and illness prevention.  

 SPAIN

Twenty- one year old Daniel Barreres is a future architect and is proud of the fact that he is the son of a half- Filipina who was born in the Philippines. He shares that among his most cherished childhood memories were those that he spent in the Philippines
