Miss International 2014: Valerie Matias of Puerto Rico

Congratulations to Valerie Matias of Puerto Rico after being selected as Miss International 2014 in glittering ceremonies held at the HITEN Main Banquet Hall of Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan. 

Composing her court are 1^st RU Miss Colombia, 2^nd RU Miss Thailand, 3^rd RU Miss United Kingdom & 4^th RU was Miss Finland. 

The morena beauties were the Top Two in Miss International 2014. The tisays took a backseat in the pageant that is traditionally dominated by the fair- skinned candidates.

Rounding out the Top Ten were Ms. Brazil, Ms. Mexico, Ms. Panama, Ms. Indonesia and Ms. Argentina. This was the first time in many years that the pageant whittled down the traditional number of semi- finalists from 15 to only ten.

Inspite the boisterous and loud cheers from Pinoys who attended the pageant finals, The Philippines dream of a historic back- to- back didn’t materialize with the non- inclusion of Miss Philippines Bianca Guidotti among the Top Ten qualifiers.
