Happy Birthday to Mellanie Wallace!

How does a certified beauty & headturner celebrate her birthday bash? For Mellanie Wallace, it was just like any other day at the Bohol Bee Farm which she helps oversee with bro Abdul and mom Vicky.

But before the day was through, she slipped into her little black dress and celebrated with family and friends at their organic farm’s newly- renovated function hall aptly named Baragay Function Hall that could seat a couple hundred of guests and can be styled for any occasion and event ranging from weddings to birthdays & to conventions and seminars!

Affectionately remembered by pageant fans as the youngest ever to win the Miss Bohol crown, Mellanie who is a registered nurse flew back home after working for a decade as a New York hospital nurse to contribute to the busy as a bee Bohol Bee farm and enjoy the laidback lifestyle of Bohol.

Catriona Gray: From Alona Beach to the World

Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray spent a few days in Bohol prior to her November departure for Washington, DC, USA where she competes with more than 100 beauty delegates for the Miss World 2016 crown. 

 most definitely a world- class welcome for a woman of the world


 

In between a most relaxing & luxurious stay at the posh Amorita Resort overlooking the spectacular powdery white sands of Alona Beach, she also videotaped her Miss World 2016 Introductory Video which is currently leading the pack with more than 198,000 views.

Standing 5’ 11” tall, the 22 year old model, blogger & singer who is one of the frontrunners for the Miss World 2016 crown aims to be the second Filipina to bring home the blue crown that symbolizes Beauty with a Purpose.

Alona’s Abuzz with The Buzz: Part Two

The wide open spaces allows the sea breeze to flow in and let the diners have an unobstructed view of the inviting waters of Alona Beach

 

Massive doses of Vitamin D stream in and succeed in lighting up the entire place and making it warm and inviting by day. 

The service crew assured me that the entire place turns cozy and romantic when dusk settles in

The fascinating cuisine that is mainly organic offers Mother Nature’s bounty from innovative and creative bestsellers to healthy options 

We ordered honey glazed chicken, grilled fish and spareribs. Tinolang manok along with slices of camote bread served as appetizers.

The Buzz Café offers more than just healthy options. They also offer pure indulgence to sate one’s cravings for sweets.

In my case, a double scoop of homemade chocolate ice cream did the trick

I’m definitely coming back for more!

By the way, we met some Lebanese tourists who told us how amazed they were with Bohol.

Alona’s Abuzz with The Buzz: Part One

Upon my cousin Dominic Butalid’s  prodding and invite, Your Blogger, together with my brother Roger, his wife Faye and their niece Jacqueline finally decided to go to the newest and latest outlet of Bohol Bee Farm; The Buzz Café at Alona Beach.

We were so giddy also to check out the place and to celebrate albeit belatedly my birthday and that of Roger

It was a bright and sunny day that promised good vibes for our small group. After walking a few meters from the parking area, we arrived at our destination

It’s located at a brand- new two- storey building and stands where the old Oops! Bar used to be situated. 

The air- conditioned ground floor serves as the souvenir cum grocery area that offers the bottled organic bounty of Bohol Bee Farm.

We then proceeded to the second floor for it was almost noon. We were not disappointed.  

Upon entering the main dining area of The Buzz Café at Alona Beach, an instant feeling of inviting warmth and friendliness assails one’s senses 

The bright orange color which by the way is one of my favorite hues dominates the entire place.  Splashes of orange and bursts of green are everywhere. 

 

The orangey couches and divans tempered by the weather beaten wooden corner tables add to the trendy and happy ambience.

Private nooks at every corner provide quiet and solitude to bookworms and a semblance of privacy for couples
