Panglao Beauty Wins MISS HNU 2013

Here's the story of how I discovered this promising Boholana beauty:

As one of the organizers for the annual Rotary Santacruzan which we launched back in 2006, I was tasked with the publicity shots for the participating sagalas. 

And so one sizzling Saturday afternooon at Alona Tropical Beach Resort, I was busy chatting with some Rotarian s when she came. This statuesque 16 year old girl just caught my attention. She was so shy that we had to coax her for the different poses needed for a particular shot. But she showed a lot of potential. A promising beauty indeed. 

Fast forward to August 2011 and our paths intertwined again. I was requested nay hired to supervise her speech, posing, walking techniques for she was selected as one of 16 ladies who will compete in the 2011 Miss Panglao Beauty Pageant.

Our efforts didn't go to waste. She won two special awards and was picked as one of the Top Seven Finalists. I then told her and her mom that it was to be the start of an extraordinary journey for her

And last February 9, my predictions came true. She won the 2013 Miss HNU Personality Search. 

Who is she? She is Candy Cumayas, 17 years old (will turn 18 tomorrow) and stands a willowy 5' 8" tall. 

She swept practically all of the awards; 

Best in Interview, Best in Outdoors Fun Attire, Best in Corporate Attire, Best in Production Number and Best in Evening Gown

Candy is taking up Hotel & Restaurant Management for she is being groomed by her mom to take over the family businesses in Panglao; Marcosa's Paradise and Spiked Coconut Bar in Alona Beach.

Who knows, Candy just might be the next girl to follow Anna Maris Igpit's footsteps for after all, she's also from Panglao, Bohol
