Amanda
Arbitrario of Panglao has been crowned as Miss SCUBA Philippines 2014. Aside
from winning PhP150,000.00
in cash, she also earned the right to represent the country in Miss Scuba
International 2014 to be held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia on November 28.
The Panglao
beauty was Miss Panglao 1st Runner Up in 2011. The beauty
contest aims to drum up conservation campaigns to educate and inspire people to
do their best in safeguarding the oceans, as well as underwater.
The winners’ mission is the protection and conservation of our
marine environment. “this
one-of-a-kind pageant promotes scuba diving and ocean preservation while
celebrating the inner beauty and courage of today’s women.”
The pageant also aims to promote safe diving practices through worldwide professional training organizations, and to elevate international tourism and cultural appreciation.
This year’s pageant had 12 finalists who
were selected not only for being certified scuba divers but also for their
being beautiful and their being passionate in promoting scuba diving and marine
conservation.

Scuba International first runner up said the pageant also aims to promote safe

She
said it will also elevate international tourism and cultural appreciation.
