BES. PH & Tourism Frontliners Get Jabbed Against COVID 19

As Bohol stirs back to life and welcomes back visitors and tourists, tourism & event frontliners also face the risk of infection from covid19 because of frequent face- to- face interaction with clients.

The Bohol Event Suppliers - PH (BES-PH), Bohol's biggest group of event professionals & composed of planners, coordinators, florists, hair & make-up artists, program hosts & event emcees, designers, boutique owners, music & dance entertainers, light & sound providers, meal caterers, modeling agents & handlers,  photographers & videographers, is grateful for the vaccination opportunity.

Thank you to the Department of Tourism, the Bohol Tourism Office, Bohol Gov. Art Yap, Tagbilaran City Mayor Baba Yap, Tagbilaran City First Lady Jane Yap, the resorts and hotels sector for accommodating the group in the ongoing covid19 vaccination rollouts in Tagbilaran City and Panglao.

Your Roving Eye was one of those who were listed for the vaccination schedule last Tuesday, June 20 at Bool Elementary School.

From registration to pre- counseling, to the vaccine jab itself and the post- vaccination, it was fast- paced and well- organized.

Kudos to BES-PH Pres. Chan Schreurs Wallace for the coordination and to the staff who manned the vaccination rollout.

Why We Need to RSVP

It’s already November? Whatever happened to October? This means December’s going to be breathing down our necks a few weeks from now with Christmas just around the corner.

With parties and functions to attend to, here’s a timely tip is for both hosts and guests alike, because there seems to be a lot of confusion about the meaning of the term RSVP. Often, guests will see those letters on an invitation and not be sure what they're supposed to do about it.

Your Roving Eye believes that it’s a social faux pas and a kiss of death when you put an RSVP request on an invitation and guests don't do anything about it.

 will they or won’t they?
Lazada Malaysia

This could mean that rudeness & the lack of social graces is a growing trend in our society. Or, perhaps, if we have to be kind about the situation, people simply are simply too gauche or do not understand what the term means.

Assuming that the reason guests don't RSVP to an invitation is a case of ignorance, here’s a refresher on Social Etiquette 101: RSVP comes from the French expression "répondez s'il vous plaît", meaning "please respond".

If RSVP is written on an invitation, it means the invited guest must tell the host whether or not they plan to attend the party. It does not mean to respond only if you're coming or not coming. It means the host and/ or the event coordinator needs a definite head count for the planned event, and needs it by the specified date.

IF YOU FAIL TO RSVP

Can you imagine what the consequences would be if the host/ celebrant/ coordinator cannot even have an estimate on the expected number of attendees and have to resort to a guessing game? It would either be two things; A heavy turnout of guests or a trickle only. Either way, it would mean issues regarding reservation of venues, shortage of party favors, wastage of catered food and drinks, difficulties in seating. We haven’t even included the problem of the “eat and run “ guests.

So if the guests don’t RSVP, blacklist and never ever invite them again. Kidding aside, the next time you see RSVP on an invitation you receive, please call your host and respond promptly. That would spare everyone a headache.

Unforgettable Genica- Leah Aceron Jabines

To be eighteen is more than just being of legal age. For girls, reaching this milestone means having a reason to celebrate and realizing one’s dream coming out party.

Most debutantes opt for the fairy tale theme for this gives them the perfect opportunity to become a princess even for just a night.

Meet the Guys behind Electro Circuit

One balmy Thursday evening, we responded to an invite from Electro Circuit’s organizers for a brief chitchat at Eping & Marge Estavilla’s Crabhouse by the Bay.

L-R: Agag Lim, LJ Lumayag, Eping Estavilla, JA Uy, Ikoy Mercado
LJ, Jay, Agag & Ikoy, four enterprising Boholano gentlemen of diverse backgrounds & varied interests yet bound by one commonality: all four love to hang out with friends & associates in trendy night spots after a week of hard work. Collectively, they call themselves Room 4 Events

That love for clubbing and hanging out with friends led to the idea of staging “Electro Circuit”, a dance party of epic proportions and part of a circuit party. They have created such a buzz for the event that they already have received inquiries from as far as Palawan, Gen Santos & Leyte on the possibility of bringing Electro Circuit to their respective places.

So here’s the gist of a two- hour exchange with the guys who assured us that partying will never be the same again in Bohol

SO WHAT’S A CIRCUIT DANCE PARTY?
A circuit party is a large dance event. It extends through the night and into the following day. Each participating bar is represented by one or two of its top DJ’s whose live performances are featured in a large dance event in this case during Electro Circuit where the music is amplified with a large sound reinforcement system, typically with large subwoofers to produce a deep bass sound.
SO WHY A CIRCUIT PARTY?
We want to introduce the concept of a circuit party to the new generation of Boholanos.  Basically, a circuit party is a number of affiliated events where each participating bar is represented by one or two of their top resident DJs. For this circuit party we go island hopping for we have Cebu’s Club Alchology,LIV Super Club and Barcode.  Bohol has Time-Out Bar, Club Sphere and U-Bar.
SO WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM ELECTRO CIRCUIT?
The December 5 event that combines clean wholesome fun with  nonstop  electronic dance music will be highlighted by awesome LED projected images, beam lights, visual effects show & smoke machines to heighten the sensory experience And the best highlight? Cebu’s club regulars, Bohol’s cool crowds & the most good- looking dudes & dudettes including the founders & members of RMAB (Ramp Models Association of Bohol) who will be celebrating their 5th year anniversary in the same event.
AS THE EVENT ORGANIZERS, HOW DID YOU MANAGE THE WORK DETAILS?
LJ oversaw the event planning & management, Ikoy handles the production & operational aspects of the event, Ag Ag is handling the marketing & promotions in collaboration with publicists & PR guys while JA Uy took charge of the Finance, Sales & Sponsorship concerns

WHERE CAN WE SCORE THE TICKETS?
We are lucky to have a vast network of friends & associates who have responded to our request for assistance especially in the distribution & sales of tickets.  Tickets are available at the following: Crab House Restaurant, Chriscent Ville Hotel,Dong Juan, K and N Productions, Shiang Ma Nou, Sophie Paris Shop, JCI Boholana Kisses Members, Alpha Phi Omega Sorority and Fraternity Members, Ramp Models Association of Bohol Members, Bohol Designers Circle Members.
By the way, the earlier the public buys the tickets, the more discounts. For more details, please check out our official FB Page “Electro Circuit: Neon Party & DJ Music Festival”
