Loon's Our Lady of Light Reemerges In Maribojoc, Bohol

Here’s the interesting narrative from Bohol First Lady Pureza V. Chatto from her and Gov. Edgar Chatto’s visit to the  residence of Dr Reuel and Gryll Relampagos in Maribojoc, Bohol two days ago.

The 7.2 magnitude earthquake on October 15, 2014, levelled to the ground the old stone church of Our Lady of Light in Loon, Bohol. Nothing is left of the church but rubble. Imagine their pleasant surprise when they came across this replica right at the front yard of the Relampagos’ residence in Maribojoc.

The magnificent beauty, the elegance & the splendor of the Birhen sa Kasilak are all captured and preserved in the replica

Guess Where's the Hottest Place To Be In Bohol?

Bohol First Lady Pureza V. Chatto is indeed perfect in her role as culture and arts emissary of the province. Through her Facebook page, she has toured us to some of the most amazing and interesting places in Bohol.

Here is an interesting first hand account from Mrs. Chatto
July 29, 2014. It is exciting to be in a place so amazing as the residence of Dr Reuel and Gryll Relampagos in Maribojoc, Bohol. I used to watch The Adventures of Gulliver when I was small.
Entering the gate of the Relampagos Residence, I thought I was in Lilliput where I can peek the inside of a church through its roof; where I am as tall as the church belfry; where I can run my fingers on the house stairs! I said to myself, "this is an enchanted kingdom"!
The kingdom is vintage and rustic giving me goosebumps of our rich culture and heritage.
Here now are some photos from that visit:

The turnover ceremony was graced by the presence of PBA Legends, a handful of hardcourt heroes known for their stellar professional careers such as Benjie Paras, Ronnie Magsanoc & Jerry Codiñera further firing up the basketball spirit among fans in the community.

Construction of the courts took an estimated 21 days, including excavation, laying the concrete, installation of the basketball rings and painting the court marks.

With the courts’ construction, Alaxan FR recognizes the resilient heart of Filipinos and lets them achieve more by enabling them to conquer body pain:

“The Filipino courageous spirit and perseverance are some of the things Alaxan FR supports. However the strong heart of the Filipino to overcome challenges of life needs the strength of the body, and that’s where Alaxan FR comes in,”
said Missy Cheah, Assistant Brand Manager of Alaxan.

The courts also serve as a beacon for people’s dreams: “We want to empower the people of the communities we reach out to who work hard to achieve their dreams, and one way of achieving that is through the Filipino quality of the bayanihan spirit. Our Courts of Inspiration firmly believes in this Filipino quality and it is its reason for being,” she adds.

The Court of Inspiration slowly molded a new lifestyle in the communities where the basketball courts were previously built, turning them into not just athletic centers but landmarks and venues for community activities.

Two years ago,Alaxan FR jump-started an endeavor to help build basketball courts and provide a backbone against pain for the strong will of potential basketball stars in the country. Starting off in its first year in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, the Court of Inspiration became a herald of hope and unity.

After pre-selecting the towns to build the basketball courts on, Alaxan FR provided the necessary construction materials, securing a partnership with the local government to mobilize the townspeople in constructing the play centers. On its second year, Alaxan FR added 10 more Courts of Inspiration in Luzon.

The Court of Inspiration does not stop with their construction. Alaxan FR has a vision, of constructing a Court of Inspiration for each major city nationwide in the years to come. It hopes to continue as well discovering and developing the basketball talents of our fellow Filipinos through this project.

On behalf of Bohol, Daghang Salamat Alaxan FR!

Their beautiful relationship culminated in a church wedding that was officiated by Fr. Leonel Grado. They had their reception at the La Roca Hotel
