Bob Marley's Thoughts on Love

I came across this gem from the King of Reggae, Bob Marley.

I don't normally talk about love nor am I too fascinated with it but the honesty and the truthfulness of what he is saying struck something in what I thought has lain dormant for quite some time.

Please read on and tell me if you're not moved too

Bob Marley: musical genius from Jamaica
“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around.
You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more.
You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you.
When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself.
Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful.
There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are.
The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever.
Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all
A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby.
Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do.
Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible.
You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you.
You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end.
Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile.
Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.”

Girls' Biggest Mistake When It Comes To Boys

When it comes to LOVE, things may have changed drastically and the rules might have been altered but there are certain rules that need to be followed

So what is Rule # 1?

Let the boys do the chasing and not the other way around.

So why is this? You might ask. The thing is you're just inflating their egos and they would never ever take you seriously for it

Get it?
Chase him UNTIL he catches you

I may be broad-minded and I might be the understanding type but I always adhere to the basics when it comes to love and affairs of the heart.

guys shy away from aggressive girls

By the way, if an affair goes awry, keep your emotions in check and don't post it in Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking sites.

Chances are they would conclude that you're either desperate OR you're sour-graping.

Have some love and respect for yourself honey.

Beautiful Lies. Ugly Truths

Through the years and along the way, I have picked up some life lessons on Looks, Lust & Love.

Here are some of them

ON LOOKS

how do I look?

1. Oiliness is next to ugliness

2. Parents are the worst liars. They would always tell us we're beautiful and handsome no matter what

3. Insecure people should avoid the company of beautiful & successful people

4. How you look is a matter of taste & preference.

You can never be sexy enough or skinny enough.

People would always have different opinions on how you look. So don’t fret

5. How do most men compensate for their lack of height either up here or down there?

Very simple actually. With an overload of swagger and arrogance

ON LUST

1. The most beautiful are the most boring in bed. They mistakenly believe that their only contribution to lovemaking is their beautiful selves and that all they have to do is lie there and wait until you get it over with

2. The merits of cajoling, the use of bargaining skills, the powers of persuasion the subtle hints of bribery & emotional blackmail are best appreciated when trying to bed somebody.

3. A relationship that is based on sexual chemistry is exciting, ecstatic and exhilarating but short- lived.

 ON LOVE

1. Love isn’t Blind
We just refuse to open our eyes to reality

2. Admit it or not but we have the least control of our mental & rational selves when we are madly in love

3. The best foundation for a successful lifetime relationship is friendship.

When the embers of passion & the heat of ardor eventually grows cold and dies, we can always rely on that friendship & companionship to see us through as we travel through old age together.

Can you share yours?
