Rotaract Club Of Panglao Island Shines in District Conference

Congratulations are in order for Rotaract Club of Panglao Island for getting three major awards during the Rotaract International Dist. 3860 Visayas & Mindanao Conference held in Tagum City, Davao.

Aside from bagging the Plaque of Recognition for "World Rotaract Week Celebration" and for being awarded as Outstanding Rotaract Club RY 2014- 15 for its sterling performance in the International, Community, Professional, Public Image & Club service avenues in the Panglao community & the implementation of service projects, the Club President Deonico Guden was also honored as one of Ten Outstanding Rotaract Club Presidents RY 2014-15 

Deo emphasized on Panglao Mayor Nila Montero’s steadfast support to Panglao's youth through the Rotaract Club of Panglao and also acknowledged the strong support of its Mother Club, Rotary Club of Panglao Island headed by Club President Karin Wesemael.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF. Bellevue Resort was the venue for the twin induction rites for Rotary Club of Panglao Island and Rotaract Club of Panglao Island. Symbolic of Rotary International’s tradition of service above self was IPP Rtn. Karin Wesemael’s turnover of the gavel of authority to incoming Club Pres. Rtn. Mary Ruth Dancel- Gango, Panglao’s Education Board Commissioner during the club’s 4^th Induction of Officers & Turn- over Ceremonies. 

Rotaract’s incoming Club President Chris Acero accepted the gavel of authority from IPP Rtr. Deonico Guden. Both have big shoes to fill coming after the dynamic duo of Rtn. Karin & Rtr. Deo whose leadership earned not only outstanding leadership citations but also recognition for their club’s exemplary performances.

Along with Club Pres. Mary Ruth Gango, the following were also inducted as Officers for RY 2015- 16: Vice Pres., Pres Elect Thomas Boetsch, Sec Apolinar Fudalan, Treas Maricel Madrona, Auditor Evangeline Pengreach, Sgt. At Arms Gina Stulhdreher & IPP Karin Wesemael

Rotary Club of Panglao Island Inducts New Set of Officers

SERVICE ABOVE SELF. The Rotary Club of Panglao Island recently had its 3^rd  Induction of Officers & Turn-over Ceremony held at the luxurious Bluewater Resort, Danao, Panglao.

Rtn. Karin Wesemael, a Belgian by birth and a Boholana by heart took her oath as Club President for RY 2014-2015. Karin, who oversees the operations of the famous Linaw Beach, has been consistently active in local community affairs before assuming the Rotary Club presidency.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION. The incoming president also collected three awards for meritorious service during the past Rotary year. Also recognized were Rotary Past Asst. Governor & Panglao Mayor Nila Paredes who was lauded for organizing relief efforts during the Typhoon Yolanda and Bohol temblor aftermath, Maricel Madrona, Christiane Theraube, Wim Zanstra, Freddy de Schuyter & Thomas Boetsch.
