BCCTV Launches E! Channel

I had so much fun hosting the formal launching of E! Entertainment Television as the latest addition to Bohol Community Cable Television's lineup of  programming channels last Thurs, Nov 8 at their office and studio in Miguel Parras St., Tagbilaran City

Lucky subscribers who participated during the launching received premium giveaways from E! Channel & BCCTV.

The whole day affair that was pre- taped as a TV special to be shown over BCCTV Channel 6 was a success. No wonder BCCTV is Bohol's leading cable television in terms of area coverage and number of program channels

Accdg. to Ms. Leizl Lim- Gregorio, BCCTV Gen. Manager:

Entertainment Television better known as E! Channel with its iconic capital letter E with the exclamation mark logo focuses on updates from Hollywood, news on movies, television, music and fashion.

The E! Channel which is seen by more than 600 million cable televiewers worldwide also features red carpet specials for the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards & the Emmy Awards and also produces top- rating reality shows  like Keeping with the Kardashians

The acquisition of E! is in line with BCCTV's thrust & commitment to give its subscribers more added value services & to enhance their viewing pleasure ”

Brief History of E! Channel:

E! Entertainment Television was founded by Larry Namer and Alan Mruvka.

July 31, 1987 the network was launched as Movietime, a service that aired:
-         movie trailers
-         entertainment news
-         event and awards coverage and interviews

June 1990, Movietime was renamed E! Entertainment Television to emphasize its widening coverage of Hollywood's movers & shakers, celebrities & gossip.

Features on contemporary film, television and music as well as fashion were also given importance

July 9, 2012, the channel introduced some changes most notably a long- overdue revised logo (the first change to its logo since the network rebranded as E! in 1990)

The exclamation mark background behind the "E" has been removed but the exclamation point underneath has been retained

The debut of its new slogan "Pop of Culture", coincided with the launch of the new series Opening Act.

E! Channel's flagship daily entertainment news program, E! News, features stories and gossip about celebrities, and the film, music and television industry, and has been broadcast under various formats since its launch, even being aired live for a time in the mid-2000s.

E! Entertainment Television can now be enjoyed by BCCTV subscribers & televiewers 24 hours a day over Channel 48

Congratulations once again and more power to the management & staff of BCCTV!
