2006 Miss Bohol Int'l Parade of National Costumes

Filipinos have always been beauty pageant fans ever since Gloria Diaz became the first Miss Universe from the Philippines and Boholanos are no exception

Everyone involved or had heard of TBTK or Tigum Bol-anon Tibuok Kalibotan, a triennial gathering of Boholanos from all over the world, were all agog with the selection of the 3rd Miss Bohol International.

And so on Friday, July 28, 2006, practically everyone trooped to the Holy Name University Gymnasium for the glittering beauty competition

PAGEANT HIGHLIGHTS: 

Pageant goers both local and visiting from all over the Philippines and from abroad were greeted with the most awesome stage ever mounted for a Bohol- based beauty pageant. 

A huge simulated waterfalls setup was the main focal point of the design with a three tiered staircase in the middle portion 

TRIVIA: Sir Fred Ong yes THE Mr. Fred Ong of BQ Mall, MetroCentre and Panglao Island Nature Resort helped conceptualize and mount the waterfall setup himself 

With cultural relevance and entertainment value in mind, the 2006 Miss Bohol International Coronation Night proved to be an evening of glamour and a showcase of the rich cultural heritage of the Boholanos through their performing artists. 

BOARD OF JUDGES:

The powerhouse Board of Judges chaired by then Manila Mayor Hon. Lito Atienza had the following members:

1. Ms Bea Zobel de Ayala Jr, patroness of the arts, 
2. Jack Cambridge, a private equity analyst, 
3. Joel Uchico, Anilao, Batangas Resort Owner Assn President, 
4. Ricky Lo, respected entertainment editor of Philippine Star, 
5. Direk Maryo J. de los Reyes, award- winning movie director, 
6. Ms Karla Bautista, Bb. Pilipinas-World 2004 and Miss World Magic 5 Finalist and Asia's Queen of Beauty 2004.

PARADE OF NATIONAL COSTUMES. 

The pageant opened with a spectacular and colorful National Costume Parade featuring the candidates and HNU's Diwanag Dance Theatre & Cultural Troupe

Candidate # 1 LOIDA TIZA SALVE LAGONOY, 18 years old, is from Pob. Dimiao, Bohol. Her parents are Loreto & Teresita Lagonoy. 

She represents the University of Bohol where she is a BS Nursing student 


Candidate # 2 ERICA JOY PASTORIZA GALEON, 16 years old, is from Elkhorn, County, California, USA. Her parents are Enrique & Caroline Galeon. 

She’s a Sophomore student of Jesse Bethel High School, Vallejo, California, USA.

She’s a Certified Public Accountant and is a Senior Associate – Assurance & Advisory Business Services of Ernst & Young- Philadelpia. 

Represents: AYBP ( Assn of Young Boholano Professionals)


Candidate # 4 CRISTINE DE LA CRUZ, 21 years old, is from Novaliches, Quezon City, Philippines. Her parents are Teody & Ma. Dolores de la Cruz. 

She’s a BS Architecture student of the Mapua Institute of Technology.
