2006 Miss Bohol International Press Conference

It was TBTK or Tigum Bol-anon Tibuok Kalibutan 2006 and one of the highlights of the triennial event was the selection of Miss Bohol International 2006.

The pageant, presented by the Chocolate Hills Lady Jaycees under the leadership of JC Pureza Veloso- Chatto and organized through TownCrier Advertising & Events, aimed to select an outstanding Boholana who possesses beauty, poise, and personality and can best epitomize the ideals of the contemporary Boholana.

The winner is also expected to be disciplined, determined, and responsible for she will be traveling extensively to promote not only Bohol as a prime tourist destination and ideal business haven but also to speak up in behalf of her advocacy whether on the environment, health, education and other socio- cultural issues that need to be supported. 

The 3rd edition of the pageant attracted fourteen beauty delegates of Boholano lineage from all over the country and from around the world who would then undergo the scrutiny of an impressive line- up of judges. 

The candidates' first official activity was the Press Conference and Poolside Swimsuit Presentation held at the Panglao Island Nature Resort, Monday, July 24.

EVENT VENUE: The Pristine & Peaceful Panglao Island Nature Resort

Panglao Island Nature Resort is an exclusive luxury beach resort in Dauis, Panglao Island, Bohol Philippines. 

The resort is set on a cliffside property, with dramatic views of the sea from its infinity pool, restaurant and seaview cottages.

Panglao Island Nature Resort offers many facilities such as swimming pools, the Mithi Spa, tennis courts, gym, game room, KTV room, children's playground, and more. 

There is also a cave (Cambagat Cave) within the resort property. You may explore or swim in the cave.

Candidate # 1 LOIDA TIZA SALVE LAGONOY, 18 years old, is from Pob. Dimiao, Bohol. Her parents are Loreto & Teresita Lagonoy. She’s a BS Nursing student of the University of Bohol, Tagbilaran City.

Candidate # 2 ERICA JOY PASTORIZA GALEON, 16 years old, is from Elkhorn, County, California, USA. Her parents are Enrique & Caroline Galeon. She’s a Sophomore student of Jesse Bethel High School, Vallejo, California, USA.

# 3 MARY CATHERINE M. BILIRAN, 25 years old, from Pob. Ibabao, Loay, Bohol. Her parents are Leon & Walfreda Biliran. She’s a Certified Public Accountant and is a Senior Associate – Assurance & Advisory Business Services of Ernst & Young- Philadelpia. 

Represents: AYBP ( Assn of Young Boholano Professionals)

4. CRISTINE DE LA CRUZ, 21 years old, is from Novaliches, Quezon City, Philippines. Her parents are Teody & Ma. Dolores de la Cruz. She’s a BS Architecture student of the Mapua Institute of Technology.

# 5 RICHELL PACALDO ANGALOT, 17 years old, from Bool District, Tagbilaran City. She would later make it as First Princess of GMA 7's Starstruck and as 1st RU & Miss Talent in the 2009 Bb. Pilipinas Beauty Pageant. 

Her parents are Richard & Melinda Angalot. She’s a BS Tourism student of Holy Name University in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

DYNAMIC LADIES: 

The Chocolate Hills Lady Jaycees of Tagbilaran City, a group of very dynamic and accomplished women from the business, government service, performing arts, and education sectors, is staging Bohol’s most prestigious beauty competition which is now on its third edition. 

They were behind the birth of the annual search for Mutya sa Tagbilaran and saw its growth as the city’s premier search for its fairest ladies.

Cathy Remperas and Rich Asuncion were managed by the same handler during the Miss Bohol International Pageant 2006 Edition. Both ladies would later tread parallel tracks 

Cathy would become an ABS CBN Pinoy Big Brother Housemate in Oct 2009 while Rich would be chosen as First Princess in GMA 7's talent search "Starstruck" and place as 2009 Bb. Pilipinas 1st Runner Up and Miss Talent
