New York, NY-December 4, 2012—The Miss Universe Organization is giving fans an inside look into the glamour of the MISS UNIVERSE®Competition and proud to announce that Miss Universe Philippines 2011 Shamcey Supsup will serve as official correspondent for “On The Scene,” a web series on the Miss Universe YouTube channel.
Shamcey Supsup will head to Las Vegas to take fans behind-the-scenes as the 89 contestants prepare for exclusive events, such as the National Costume Event on December 14.
The former Miss Philippines is no stranger to the fast paced life of the pageant world. In 2011, Supsup placed third runner-up at the MISS UNIVERSE® Competition in São Paulo, Brazil. However, her beauty is more than skin deep. Supsup graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines and topped the National Licensure Examination in Architecture in June 2011.
She has recently teamed up with the UN World Food Program in the fight against child hunger.

After the initial skepticism that greeted the scoop that Shamcey will be playing an active role in this year's Miss Universe Pageant, the Miss Universe Organization based in New York City has released an official statement confirming that it has extended an invitation to Shamcey to be an official correspondent for the web series focusing on the pageant
Shamcey revealed that in the letter of invitation, the MUO found her to be a perfect fit for the role. She believes that she was also chosen from among the runners up in last year's pageant for two main reasons; First, she was the only one who spoke in English during the Question & Answer Portion. Secondly, she comes from the Philippines which is known to be fanatics of the Miss Universe Pageant
Shamcey clarified that she won't be sharing emceeing duties with Andy Cohen and Juliana Rancic but even then, the mere fact that she was chosen over former Miss USA winners as official correspondent is an achievement already
In the Miss Universe website, Shamcey is given equal billing & prominence with Train, the pop group behind "Hey, Soul Sister" and apparently are the major talents who will have a major major role in this year's beauty spectacle.
