Boholana Beauty Vies for Miss Teen California 2017 Crown

Who would have expected that our tidbit on the Fil- American beauty of Boholano lineage would pique the curiosity of many paisanos who were thrilled with the idea that a Boholana just might be representing the Golden State in the Miss Teen USA 2017 pageant.

Katiana just kickstarted her foray into the pageant scene

  

Katiana Ann Butalid Borja is the 16 year old long- legged & lissome teen and heiress apparent to mom Louella "Weng" Yap Butalid  the Boholana fashion model who sashayed on the Cebu catwalks back in the late 80's and a finalist in the 1988 Ford Supermodel of the World- Philippines search.

MISS SOUTERN COAST TEEN 2017 Already a towering 5’ 9”, Katiana competed with 12 other teens in the Miss Orange County Teen USA and Miss Southern Coast Teen USA pageants, official regional preliminaries to the competitive Miss Teen California 2017 pageant that will select California’s official bet to the Miss Teen USA 2017 Pageant.

Prior to being crowned as Miss Southern Coast Teen last August 28 at Hilton Irvine, Kiks also won the Best in Interview award during the crucial preliminary round that determined the final five.

KATIANA AS A STUDENT Katiana Ann Butalid Borja is consistently in the honor roll at St. Genevieve High School where she is a junior.   She is a well- rounded teenager who balances her academics with her athletic and competitive side which she got from her dad Anthony Fabiosa Borja. She is in fact the captain ball of the SGHS basketball team that clinched for her the Heart of the Champion award as well as Junior Associate Student Body representative in the student council.

Aside from school and sports, Kiks is musically inclined and can sing while strumming the guitar or playing the ukulele care of her Kuya Kristian who taught her the basics in playing the said musical instruments.

PROMISING MODEL She has shown a lot of potential as a ramp and photographic model and landed her first magazine cover even before she clinched the regional beauty title.

Will she make history as the first Boholana to be California’s bet to the Miss Teen USA Pageant? We will see but for the meantime, let Kiks get a lot of kick as she enjoys the summer of her life!
