We selected the girls who we thought had the best potential and who were already naturally beautiful. Since the winner will be a spokesperson, extra weight was also given for communication skills, personality, charm & stage presence.

I also considered how the candidate might perform in the national finals. Will she keep her composure & confidence the moment she meets the other beauty delegates from all over the country? Will she be able to sustain her enthusiasm & energy for the grueling & hectic schedule of pre- pageant activities? Will she be able to cope with the pressure? Can she stand the moments of longing & homesickness?

After seeing all the girls who screened for the pageant, Your Roving Eye can confirm that Bohol will never run out of beautiful ladies and it seems to Your Roving Eye that our present generation of young Boholanas have become prettier and taller.

Ritchel A. Mutia, Corporate Marketing Team Of Alturas Group Of Companies, bared that ten ladies have been selected as the official candidates for Miss Philippines Earth Bohol 2016. 

They are Charysse Jane Roferos, Ojela Janeca Berioso, Charlene Jotojot, Bretziel Laurel, Lady Arlia Lumantas ,

Hannah Mae Cimeni , Rizalee Rose Sempron Razo,  Mary Jane Malaran ,  Josephine Rheigans and Maria Edith Jayagan.

Once again, Island City Mall, together with Carousel Productions, takes the first step in the journey of that one special Boholana who will experience that once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to shine in the national beauty pageant stage.

Who will succeed Gayle Suzette Yu as Bohol’s official Eco Warrior? Do you have what it takes to be the Boholana representative for Miss Philippines Earth 2016?

If you have Boholano roots, 18 to 25 years old and at least 5’5” tall, then join the screening this Sunday, Feb 21, 3 pm at the Island City Mall Activity Center.

Twelve official candidates will be chosen for the Bohol finals of Miss Philippines Earth 2016

Bring with you your two- piece swimwear, casual wear and high- heeled shoes.

The 2016 Miss Philippines Earth Bohol Search will have its Grand Finals and Coronation on Saturday, March 12 at the ICM Activity Center with 2015 Miss Philippines Earth Air Olive Chanel Thomas as celebrity judge.

Gayle Suzette Garces Yu Says Thank You

I would like to repost what Gayle Suzette Garces Yu posted in her FB Timeline:

It was exactly two months ago when I flew to Manila with a dress on (it was my first time flying nga naka dress haha) and bringing along with me the courage to compete in a national beauty contest. Honestly, I did not know what to expect. I was taking a risk, but I was grabbing the opportunity - the opportunity to compete representing my hometown and province in a national competition which does not only promote beauty, but has a cause in protecting our environment. Two months is quite a long time but my stay was worthwhile.

Now, I am back in Calape. I am back to being the Gayle I have always been but equipped with the learnings and experiences I gained. Plus, the wonderful friends I got! I always believe that God puts me where I am for a reason. Joining Miss Philippines Earth indeed has taught me a lot. I did not get the crown for us, but I do hope I made you proud.

After two months of grueling pre- pageant activities, sponsor visits, tours, rehearsals, appearances, challenge events, environmental awareness seminars & clean- up drives, Miss Philippines Earth 2015 will culminate tonight with a grand coronation that befits the pageant’s Crystal Year Anniversary. 

Our very own Gayle Suzette Garces Yu goes head-to- head with 37 other earth princesses during the grand finale at the Mall of Asia Arena & telecast live over ABS CBN Channel 2.

Regardless of the outcome, Gayle has been a wonderful representative of Bohol and managed to cope with the rigorous demands of the pageant.  

Will Lady Luck smile at Gayle tonight?

Bohol's Bet Wins a Special Award in Miss Philippines Earth 2015

And here’s some good news from the beauty front: Our very own Gayle Suzette Yu was awarded as Miss Tupperware Color Collection, one of the Corporate Awards given out in the ongoing Miss Philippines Earth 2015 Pageant. The presentation of awards came right after the conclusion of the Evening Gown Competition

WHO WILL MAKE THE FIRST CUT?

It’s the final week before the newest environmental advocate of the country will be crowned. Tensions are getting high and expect nerves to be frazzled. Most of the girls are anxiously wondering if they will make the first cut.

The first cut means the top 15 girls who will advance to the final round during the grand coronation. The announcement is done right after the opening dance number & introduction of candidates

HOW ARE THE TOP 15 CHOSEN?

The main bulk of the composition of the semifinalists is usually based on the outcome of the preliminary judging that consists of a closed – door panel/ individual interview where the judges look for environmental quotient, personality, charm & beauty. The girls will undergo this crucial phase of the competition without any make up on their faces.

Your Blogger is very confident that Gayle will ace this part of the judging process. Aside from being a Wordian ( staff member of HNU's campus paper The Word) and gifted with wit & eloquence, the registered nurse has stayed in the US for a couple of years right after college so I am pretty sure it will be a walk in the park for Bohol's bet. 

Here’s a more interesting detail on the judging process: Did you know that a small percentage of the girls’ composite scores will come from their chaperones’ evaluation sheets? It means looking at the girls’ attitude, punctuality & optimism. 

We have to understand that joining a major beauty pageant is akin to applying for a job. In this case, to be Miss Philippines Earth is not only to be the country’s official bet to Miss Earth but most importantly, to be an effective spokesperson on environmental advocacies and raising awareness for environmental issues.

Who will make this year’s top 15? Who will be Miss Philippines Earth 2015? Let’s find out this Sunday, May 31 at the Mall of Asia Arena. It will be telecast live over ABS CBN Channel 2

Miss Philippines Earth 2015 Sets Crowning on May 31

As Miss Philippines Earth 2015 enters the last stretch of its series of challenges and pre- pageant events, the girls can finally heave a sigh of relief as they get ready for the real battle that looms ahead.

Only the Cocktail Wear, Evening Gown, Trash to Class, Friendship, Photogenic & Eco Video challenges remain to be disputed but it’s the crucial Preliminary Judging that the girls really prepare for. It consists of a panel/ individual interview where the judges look for environmental quotient, personality, charm & beauty. The girls will undergo this crucial phase of the competition without any make up on their faces.

Your Blogger is very confident that our bet Gayle Suzette Garces Yu will breeze through the interviews. It’s now a matter of destiny, luck & timing but whatever the outcome, she has represented us beautifully and I‘m quite sure that she has collected enough memories from the experience that would last her a lifetime.
