Bb Pilipinas Best in Swimsuit: 2000- 2017

THIS IS AN UPDATED VERSION: The Swimsuit Competition has always been the main target of feminists and radicals who have been branding pageants as exploitative and degrading to women

On the contrary, the swimsuits are empowering and liberating to women for it gives them the liberty to be in control and to be comfortable with their bodies.

Rather than cater to the baser and more prurient interest among men, the swimsuit competition actually highlights physical fitness and showcases the beauty and symmetry of womanhood with the candidates who actually take care of themselves being amply rewarded.

Aside from beauty of the face, figure and legs, the swimsuit competition also shows us how disciplined and how fit the girls are.

Entering a pageant is like applying for a job. Glamorous yes but one that takes a lot of hard work from the girls especially for all the appearances, projects and other stuff they are required to accomplish for one year of reign.

During the 2014 Bb Pilipinas Pageant set amidst the colorful & frenzied tribute to four of the most popular Philippine festivals , there was an ample display of beauty and charm as the girls sashayed and posed on stage in their modest one piece swimwear

It has been said that whoever gets the Best in Swimsuit Award is already assured of an important crown as previous results has shown

So when MJ Lastimosa was revealed as this year’s Best in Swimsuit, I almost jumped off from where I was seated for I knew that she was already a lock for one of the five titles.

December Escapade in Manila

It was an early Christmas treat when Madame Conchita Che Toribio De Los Reyes gave me the opportunity to host her 4th Annual Beauche National Sales Conference last December 14, 2013 held at the glitzy Solaire Resort & Casino

 

FAMILY BONDING TIME

In between, I found time to bond with our eldest in the family Ate Marcel who is now based in Quezon City with husband Tony Diego and children Kenneth & Katrina

I also spent two days with my close friend Erma Pandan at her Eastwood Condo in Libis, QC. 

I also bonded with my Manila- based brothers Ryan Joseph & Angelo

Binibini Beauties Meet The Boholano Blogger

Today felt like no other for this Boholano blogger.

You see, I got the chance to meet not one but three Bb. Pilipinas titleholders.

Finally, I got the chance to reunite with 1981 Miss Young Philippines, 1985 Bb. Pilipinas- Universe and author of the phenomenal adventuresofabeautyqueen.com Joyce Ann Burton- Titular and 2006 Bb Pilipinas World Anna Maris Igpit

It was a fun get- together because of Bea Santiago's Miss International victory and Bea happens to be under Kagandahang Flores beauty camp where Anna is a mentor and camp sister

ON JOYCE ANN BURTON

My friendship with Ms Joyce started when I became a regular visitor of her blog and it was cemented when we invited her to be one of the judges for the 2012 Miss Panglao Pageant in Panglao, Bohol

We talked about the relief efforts that we are doing right now in Bohol

Joyce is all set to leave for a much- deserved vacation and visit to Los Angeles for the holidays with her hubby Ron Titular. 

When Anna left for another Oplan Bangon Bohol meeting, Joyce and I went to nearby Cyma, a Greek restaurant to sample some Mediterranean dishes. Ron joined us afterwards. 

It was so much fun to have met them again and to catch up where we left off after their Bohol trip last year

ON ANNA MARIS

Anna Maris updated us with her DepEd coordination meeting that was related to the rebuilding and repair of Bohol schools that were devastated by the October 15 temblor that struck our province.

Anna Maris and I are provincemates in case you still don't know

After the chitchat cum interview and the obligatory photo opportunity care of my brother Angelo who tagged along as unofficial photographer, we had to bade farewell.

By the way, it was funny that we were supposed to meet up in The Fort Area but when I texted the both of them that I was in Eastwood and that I was petrified going to The Fort alone, they decided to brave the traffic and come over all the way from Makati

Their gesture alone was so touching because despite their celebrity status, they went out of their way to meet up

Right after my meet up with Anna & Joyce, I bumped into Janina San Miguel, 2008 Bb Pilipinas World at the posh condo unit of my good friend Erma Pahang
