Who
would have thought that the once- precocious little girl who was in one of my
summer workshops in public speaking & broadcasting would one day blossom
into an attractive, smart and level- headed teenager?
Meet Quir Nicole G. Maghuyop, a
vivacious and bubbly 15 year old senior student of Holy Name University High
School.
This campus head-turner is a well-
rounded student who is not only doing well in her academics but also being involved
in her school’s co-curricular and extra- curricular activities.
Aside from being a Senior Girl Scout
& Liaison Officer of HNU’s Scouting Unit, she is also a member of Falcon
Terpsichore, her school’s dance troupe. She is the outdoorsy type and loves to play
volleyball and frisbee
This early, Nicole has already decided
on the career path she is going to take after she graduates next year. She
plans to pursue a BS Psychology degree for she claims to be good in dispensing
advices as well as being very observant with human behavior
Lest you think she is a supercilious & frivolous brat, she is not and she is grateful for having disciplinarian but loving parents Papa Gumer P. Maghuyop and Mama Abigail who raised her and her six siblings into being well- grounded individuals.
So where did she acquire the poise, the confidence & the interpersonal skills that are evident in the way she speaks, carries herself and interacts with people?
Quir Nicole then reveals the secret:
”Credit goes to the Silka beauty & skin care products that I have been using It was early last year when I found out about the search for Miss Silka Bohol. I became more interested when I learned that the winner of the local search will represent Bohol in the nationwide search for Miss Silka Philippines. I became determined not only to join but to win of course. (laughs aloud)
Part of my strategy was to get to know more about Silka since the winner was to become a brand ambassadress & spokesperson. And the best way to know the product was to use it myself. And the rest, as they say, is history”
TOP
TEN PLACEMENT
After winning the Miss Silka Bohol 2013
title, she placed Bohol in the national spotlight late last year when she
represented the province in the national finals of Miss Silka Philippines 2014
where she placed in the Top Ten from out of 30 provincial & regional beauty
delegates from all over the country.
To be selected as Miss Silka Bohol has been a great learning & rewarding experience for me. I have become more conscious of how I carry and conduct myself especially in public because I have always believed that true beauty should come from within. With the help of Silka products, I have become more confident of how I look and how I look at situations and at people.
The title really opened a lot of doors for me and the opportunity to represent my province in a national contest has been a humbling yet unforgettable experience. Until now, I still remember the bonding moments I had with fellow candidates from the Visayas like Iloilo, Bacolod, Tacloban, Cebu, Dumaguete, Ormoc. It never felt like we were in a competition. We were like sisters and BFFs.
WHAT
DOES BEING MISS SILKA BOHOL MEAN TO YOU?
To
be Miss Silka Bohol means being a good role model to my peers not only on how I
look on the outside but also on the inside. The title also means trying my best
to live up to the expectations of my family and friends.
Being
Miss Silka Bohol means having the beauty to captivate people and having the
heart to inspire through her involvement in projects that will benefit the
community
