Miss Bohol 2015 Reunion of Queens

The 2015 Miss Bohol Pageant had a vintage- themed edition. From the glamshots complete with faux fur & pearl necklace to the one- piece swimwear and all the way to the evening gown competition.

In keeping with the theme and the tribute to all the Miss Bohol titleholders who captivated an entire generation through the years, the queens who were in attendance during the pageant were properly acknowledged onstage.

The ladies’ presence proved to be the emotional highlight of the pageant which underscored their contribution to  Bohol’s beautiful & colorful history.

Miss Bohol 2015 Girls Learn from JCI Bohol Chocolate Hills

Miss Talibon & Miss Sierra Bullones share a laugh 

I was visiting the FB timeline of the 2015 Miss Bohol  girls trying to check whether they have done their share to promote the pageant when  I came across this touching post from Miss Talibon, Mae Regil Amba Versoza.

Yesterday has been so meaningful to me and to the rest of the girls. We met more than 20 kids in Holy Trinity Angels Care Home in Albur, Bohol. They sang a song for us with these lyrics,

"Welcome to the family.

We're glad that you have come

to share your life with us"

and then I just cannot stop myself, most of us burst out in tears. It just broke my heart, seeing these little angels who have been abandoned and neglected by their own parents. It made me value my life even more, and reminded me of how fortunate I am to have a complete family for my entire existence.

On the way to the orphanage, I was quite nervous because I have never been good with kids. But the moment we spent time with them, I don't want to leave anymore. The time we spent together was so short

These children are gifts and blessings from above. They deserve to live a beautiful life just like everyone else. Someday, I want to be successful so that in one way or another I can share my blessings to these kids. I am hoping and praying for all of them to be guided always and someday be with a family that will truly love them and care for them.

Why Did the Miss Bohol 2015 Girls Cry?

Believing that the Miss Bohol girls can be effective catalysts for positive changes, the JCI Bohol Chocolate Hills brought the girls to the Holy Trinity Angels Care Home in Alburquerque.  It was to expose the girls to the realities outside their comfort zone and to bring cheers and smiles to the orphans.   

No less than the JCI National Executive Vice President Eon Tiu and JCI National Treasurer Hegem Furigay joined in to witness how the local JCI have helped the pageant evolve from being frivolous activities into an avenue where girls can use their crown to support an advocacy and to help the community

Mikee Andrei finished her studies at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines where she is presently working as the school’s administrator and one of the faculty members teaching fashion design to aspiring students

“She believes that design aesthetics is more of elaborating the female silhouette and is fond of vintage pieces then corporate it to design pieces. She considers every work as a masterpiece may it be an outfit to a night out or a bridal gown of women who considers dressing up to celebrate femininity and sophistication”

Mikee is also the current President of the Fashion Designer Alliance Manila (FaDAL).
