Danao's Bet for Miss Bohol 2016 & Maxine Medina are First Cousins!

Did you know that Maria Mika Maxine Perez Medina, our newly- crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2016 is the first cousin of Glyssa Bingas Perez, the Boholana who traces her roots in Danao and the 2014 Miss Philippines Australia titleholder?
CROWNED  COUSINS: Glyssa Bingas Perez & Maxine Perez Medina

Maxine’s mom, Marife Perez Medina, a senior area manager in Makati for one of the country’s biggest banks, is the youngest sister of Godofredo Perez, the father of Glyssa. The Boholano connection of Glyssa is care of mom Yolie Bingas who is from Danao, Bohol.
CONFIDENT & CHARMING  COUSINS
Glyssa who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in commerce major in finance last March 2016 in Australia has been so inspired with her Ate Maxine’s victory that it’s now all systems go for her as Danao’s bet for Miss Bohol which incidentally marks its 90th year since Ascension Gaviola of Jagna was crowned Miss Bohol 1926.
  CLASS & CARRIAGE

The 5’ 7” beauty was here in Bohol a year ago for a Danao Eco Adventure Park photo shoot and to reconnect with her Boholano relatives in Danao. When asked why she wants to join Miss Bohol when she could go straight to a national pageant, she replied
"it would be a big honor for me to represent my mom's hometown Danao in Miss Bohol & to carry the name of Bohol if I were given the chance to compete in the nationals"

If indeed Glyssa Perez will compete in Miss Bohol this July, will she do an Elle Gonzales or surpass all expectations and clinch the crown hands down?

With rumors swirling that Karen Gallman, another Fil- Aussie beauty who landed in the Top 12 and voted Miss Photogenic in Bb Pilipinas 2012 as Ubay’s flag bearer, we expect a battle of the glamazons as Panglao is reportedly fielding a 5' 8" towering beauty.

With more than a dozen towns grooming and prepping up their bets for Bohol’s most prestigious crown, this year's edition of Miss Bohol would indeed be a fitting way to celebrate 90 years of the Boholana's beauty & charm

We shall find out a few months from now.
