Your Roving Eye is currently doing a series of features for the ladies who are vying for the Miss Bohol 2016 crown. Quir & Pearl share two things in common.
Both ladies have competed and won in Miss Silka Bohol, the official preliminary that selects Bohol’s bets for the annual nationwide search for product endorsers & image models for a line of beauty products.
Both ladies are also taking medical and allied medical courses in prestigious medical schools.
CANDIDATE # 3 MISS LOBOC Quir Nicole G. Maghuyop, 17 years old, is an incoming BS Psychology sophomore at the San Pedro College, Davao City where she a Dean’s Lister and an active member of the school’s Kaalam Dance Company, Student Congress & Speech Society.
After winning the Miss Silka Bohol 2013 title at the age of 14, she represented Bohol in the Miss Silka Philippines 2013 national finals where she placed in the Top Ten.
Surprisingly, despite being the image model & endorser for a line of skin whitening products, Quir is the outdoorsy type who worships the sand, sea & sun. Her free time is spent playing frisbee, running and biking with friends.
CANDIDATE # 4 MISS ALBURQUERQUE Pearl Dianne B. Bungabong, 22 years old, the registered nurse is now in her second year as a Degree of Medicine student at the Cebu Doctors University and plans to specialize in pediatrics or neurology.
Miss Silka Bohol 2014 organizers, production staff & fellow candidates remember Pearl as one of the girls who never hesitates to help the neophytes with their pasarela (pageant walk) and question and answer tips.
She eventually finished as 2nd RU and swept most of the special awards at stake.
Pearl is also the reigning Miss College of Medicine in Cebu Doctors University and represented her school in the 2016 Miss Association of Philippine Medical Colleges, an inter- medical school competition where she emerged 2nd Runner Up.
Pearl is also a contributing writer for their school paper and is also a member of the College of Medicine Dance Team.
