Miss Tagbilaran City & Miss Loon for Miss Bohol 2016

Our last tandem of beauties who are vying for the Miss Bohol 2016 crown has two similarities. Both girls are the tallest in the batch and both are teenagers.

MISS TAGBILARAN CITY & MISS LOON
On the other hand, one has delicate Oriental features, a svelte & willowy frame & porcelain complexion while the other has Filipina features, smooth and even sunkissed complexion and a curvaceous & bosomy figure. Let’s get to know them a bit better.

Candidate #15 Miss Tagbilaran City Queeniebeth Barcelona, 17 years old, is a BS Tourism Management sophomore student of Holy Name University who actively participates in student governance.
If one were to describe Queeniebeth, it would have to be regal and composed. The 5’7” tall sports fanatic who had to hurdle two local beauty competitions to earn the right to represent the capital city of Tagbilaran in Miss Bohol was named after Queen Elizabeth.
Living up to her name’s significance , this lady exudes class & elegance whether on or off the stage. The very same qualities  that separates a queen from princesses.
 MISS TAGBILARAN CITY  Queeniebeth Barcelona

Candidate #16 Miss Loon Bretziel Llanzaderas Laurel, 19 years old, is a graduating Bachelor in Elementary Education student of Cebu Normal University. She graduated with honors from elementary school and is a Dean’s Lister in college.
The tallest candidate at 5’ 8”, this aspiring teacher who wants to inspire & mold young minds into becoming productive citizens of the community once won first place in a Balak Contest in her hometown Loon.
Bretziel reminds pageant watchers of Janicel Lubina, the morena beauty from Palawan who won the 2015 Bb Pilipinas- International crown not only because of her Filipina beauty but also because of her very sweet and charming ways.

Miss Panglao & Miss Balilihan for Miss Bohol 2016

Our next pair of beauties is among the youngest in the ongoing Miss Bohol 2016 Pageant.

 MISS PANGLAO & MISS BALILIHAN
Both are pretty 17 year old teenagers, have made their mark in academic and scholastic achievements and earned the right to represent their municipalities in the province’s longest- running and most prestigious beauty competition by winning their respective preliminary town pageants.

Candidate #13 Miss Panglao Catherine Cadayona Tabaniag, 17 years old, a BS Education major in Social Studies sophomore in Holy Name University.
As Class Valedictorian of San Agustin Academy, she entered university as an academic scholar and has been a consistent Dean’s Lister.
Among the beauty titles she has won are Miss Panglao 2013, Miss BACS Academics 2014 (Bohol Association of Catholic Schools), Miss HNU College of Education 2015. The 5’ 6’’ charmer sees beauty pageants as empowering for women and if Lady Luck would shine on her, she would use the Miss Bohol 2016 crown to realize her literacy advocacy through book reading in communities with the highest dropout rates.
She has started her advocacy in Panglao in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Panglao Island where she serves as the Club Secretary. Consistent with her belief that education is power, she admires Efren Penaflorida, CNN Hero of the Year 2009, for his advocacy of reforming the out-of-school youth in poverty- stricken communities through education.
  MISS PANGLAO Catherine Tabaniag

She is actively involved in the Supreme Student Government, Unlad Kabataan Program, Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes, Student Catholic Action & the Parish Youth Ministry

Miss Duero & Miss Danao for Miss Bohol 2016

The spotlight will now move to the beauties from Duero & Danao. They are opposites as far as temperament, looks & background are concerned. One hails from the eastern coast of Bohol while the other traces her roots to the central part of Bohol. Let’s get to know these beauties a little better.
MISS DUERO & MISS DANAO

She is not only a Dean’s Lister but also the President of her school’s Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants. Passing the CPA board examinations and landing a good job are her main priorities right after she graduates early next year.
MISS DUERO Karen Jane Ilagan

Candidate #12 Miss Danao Glyssa Leiann Bingas Perez, 21 years old, graduated with a BS Commerce degree major in Finance. During her college days in Australia where she spent her growing up years, she was awarded for the Best Endeavor in Finance 2015.
Beauty runs in her bloodline and in fact, she and reigning 2016 Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Perez Medina are first cousins. She was crowned the 2014 Miss Philippines Australia where she represented the Visayas Association of Australia Inc.. In the same pageant, she  also won the Best in Filipiniana, Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown special awards.
Definitely one of the most polished and most prepared among the girls, she is fulfilling her mom Yolie Bingas Perez’ wish to have her represent her hometown of Danao in the Miss Bohol Pageant.

If she wins the Miss Bohol crown, she hopes to be given the chance to bring a voice in raising the awareness on breast cancer among Boholanas. The advocacy is closest to her heart for it has hit home and the main reason why her Australia- based mom who is undergoing chemotherapy cannot make it for the  for the grand coronation.

The Chin Chin Gutierrez look-a-like is not only breathtakingly beautiful in photographs but also pretty in a reserved and demure way in person. The frail and delicate- looking beauty is a revelation once she is onstage as she is fierce with her pasarela and there is a hint of subdued elegance when she sashays onstage in her evening gown.

Miss Alburquerque for Miss Bohol 2016

The Pearl of Alburquerque
It has been five years since the Municipality of Alburquerque sent a candidate to Miss Bohol. Their bet this year is one of those Boholana beauties who have excelled in their fields of endeavors.

Gregarious, amiable and warm are three of the best adjectives that come to mind when you meet 22  year old Pearl Dianne Bongo Bungabong.

Miss Silka Bohol 2014 organizers, production staff & fellow candidates remember Pearl as one of the girls who never hesitates to help the neophytes with their pasarela (pageant walk) and question and answer tips.

She eventually finished as 2nd RU and swept most of the special awards at stake.

Pearl is also the reigning Miss College of Medicine in Cebu Doctors University and represented her school in the 2016 Miss Association of Philippine Medical Colleges, an inter- medical school competition where she emerged 2nd Runner Up.

BEAUTY & BRAINS Ms Bungabong’s academic achievements as well as her co- curricular and extra- curricular activities are not to be sneezed at either.

The registered nurse ranked 8th in the Cumulative Ranking Theory and 10th placer for Overall Ranking Nursing Batch 2014 and is currently on her second year as a Degree of Medicine student at the Cebu Doctors University.

She plans to specialize in pediatrics or neurology.

ADVOCACY:
If I were to win Miss Bohol, I will be a health educator  who will passionately teach Boholanos on the importance of embracing a healthy active lifestyle. Lifestyle diseases are rampant in our province such as cancer, hypertension and diabetes mellitus and it all stems from negligence of focusing on the basics like eating the right kind of food, sleeping properly and doing regular physical exercise.

Pearl  during her Miss Silka Bohol 2014 stint where she emerged among the Final Four

 Santa Monica Church
ALBURQUERQUE:

Pearl's hometown is an unassuming, quaint, little town that is nine kilometers from the capital city of Tagbilaran. But behind its simplicity, there lies a promising town.

For the past three years, Alburquerque has been celebrating its Tuba and Kinilaw Festival every June 9, the town's foundation day.

More than the tuba which is famed to be the best there is in Bohol and their succulent kinilaw from its aquatic resources, the festival pays homage to the industry and perseverance of the hardworking Alburanhon

Alburquerque is also home to Santa Monica Church, one of the churches in Bohol that has the most beautiful facades and miraculously spared from the ravages of the devastating earthquake that struck our province last October 15, 2013.

The town also produces various products like calamay, rock salt, ginamos, broom, claypot, and various vegetables and is home to some of the province's best ironsmiths
