Meet the 2016 Mutya sa Tagbilaran Candidates

The annual search for Tagbilaran’s fairest officially kicked off yesterday with a press presentation & conference held at the Café Dolores of Bohol Tropics Resort. Fifteen girls, each one of them representing the 15 barangays of the city, were presented to the print and broadcast media.

Yesterday’s press presentation also included the launch of Saulog sa Tagbilaran 2016 and the much- awaited opening of the Tagbilaran City Friendship Park thus the presence of Mayor John Gesnell Yap & ranking officials of the city

CITY- WIDE IN SCOPE AND PARTICIPATION

For the third year in a row, the search for Mutya sa Tagbilaran has become city- wide in scope and participation. 

The city government- organized pageant began months ago with the series of barangay level searches being staged all over the city with the winners advancing to the final competition scheduled on April 24, 2016, Bohol Wisdom Gym, 8 pm.

Mrs. Jane Censoria C. Yap, Tagbilaran City First Lady and Project Chair reiterated that Mutya sa Tagbilaran is not focused solely on physical. 

The judges will be on the lookout for the lady who is deemed the complete package since the pageant is to select a titleholder who personifies Tagbilaran City’s beauty and she has the mission of presenting the city’s beauty, its people, ideals and visions to the rest of the world.

With a hint of pride and endearment, the First Lady also shared with the media that as the mother of the city & as the project chair, she is not only protective of the ladies and their well- being but also proud of the marked improvement in their personalities. 

The girls have undergone intensive trainings and workshops under Kagandahang Flores to empower them into becoming self- assured ladies who are aware of social issues and become women who will be actively involved in their communities and make a difference.

Tagbilaran City Mayor Baba Yap also graced the media event not only to give his support to the Mutya sa Tagbilaran Search but also to address questions regarding the forthcoming Saulog sa Tagbilaran 2016 and the much- awaited opening of the Tagbilaran City Friendship Park.
