Beauty queens have always been highly regarded in Bohol. Once a girl gets crowned as the fairest whether in the school, municipal, city or provincial level, life never gets to be the same again. She is immediately elevated in a pedestal and gets the same V.I.P. treatment that is usually accorded to public officials. I have seen it personally having been in the pageant industry for quite some time.
The same thing is happening to newly- crowned Miss Philippines Earth- Bohol 2015 Gayle Suzette Garces Yu. Prior to her departure for Manila yesterday in pursuit of the national crown, she has been making courtesy calls to govt. officials in order to promote the advocacy of the pageant.
