GRANDIOSE EXPERIENCE It was a stylish & filling way to start the weekend. Your Roving Eye certainly was looking forward to a very special media event hosted by Be Grand Bohol’s biggest & most exclusive enclave for well- heeled travelers & guests with extra holiday for a select group of Bohol’s lifestyle writers & editors
Set at the resort’s very exclusive restaurant, The Boathouse, the guests including Your Roving Eye were introduced to an all- new menu as well as the signature items & choices from their specials board.
SMOKED SALMON PASTA : linguine w’ cream sauce, asparagus,
mushroom, boiled egg confetti, shallots & chives
|

Anito Lanticse, Resort GM leads the small talk |
Sebastien Dupont ,Director of Restaurants, listens intently |
FRESH TABLE PHILOSOPHY Pocket discussions then emerged but the small talk invariably centered mostly on the farm to table cuisine concept or fresh table philosophy which is synonymous with freshly- picked, seasonal local crops and bounties from the sea.
While the concept is not exactly new, it is basically something that is gaining ground among proponents and followers alike. As Valerio Malucelli, the resort’s amiable Director of Culinary Arts & Production Service explains,
“It’s mostly going back to the basics. Serve it as simply as possible and sans the rich & creamy dressings so that the full flavor pops out”
This explains also why The Boathouse doesn’t have a menu except for the choices on the specials board since their specially- created meals are changed constantly. The
resort has five signature restaurants and bars, each offering a unique dining
experience.
The
Food Hall located just below the main lobby serves diners ala carte and has an
expansive menu with impeccable presentation. It has also private rooms for
intimate gatherings or meetings.
The
Bridge, offers a casual cafĂ© dining experience on the water’s edge being
situated at the center of the pool.
The
Monkey Bar is Al-fresco dining by the beach with the resort’s signature seafood
grills can be had at the Monkey Bar by the beach and garden area.
The
Lune is an open dining area at the roof deck of the main building, which is
perfect for relaxing in the late afternoon or evening.
Maricar Tan, Be Resort's dependable PR lady |
Maricar Tan, the resort’s amiable Area Marketing Communications Manager explained that the Boathouse is exclusive to guests who are checked in at the Be Grand Resort’s dreamy luxury Villas , 19 one- room or two- room luxurious private retreats where guests step into a unique experience that includes a 24 hour villa host service including their very private pools to ensure seclusion and serenity.
So if you have picky guests who have very discriminating tastes, this is the place to be.
After the remnants & morsels from the evening’s meal had been cleared & everyone had finished off the sinfully delightful tiramisu, it was time for proper goodbyes but not without thanking Anito Lanticse, the youthful & charming General Manager for the lovely experience.
On the way back to Tagbilaran, thoughts on the scrumptious treat that we partook kept swirling and dancing in and out of my head
And yes, Your Roving Eye is surely going back with a few friends in tow so they too can experience a world where beautiful and endless possibilities can happen. Thank you Be Grand for the warm welcome & the great foodie experience.
