Catherine Cadayona Tabaniag of Panglao is Miss Silka Bohol 2018

She didn’t win any of the 10 special awards at stake but in the end she got the biggest title and succeeded the 2017 Miss Silka Bohol winner Sheena Marie Licong.  Catherine Cadayona Tabaniag of Panglao who turned 20 during the pageant received her best birthday gift yet, the Miss Silka Bohol 2018 crown and title.

She gained the judges' nod with her consistent performance, commanding stage presence, great speaking skills and the luminous, silky smooth skin that is associated with the use of Silka beauty and skincare products from Cosmetique Asia Corporation.

Abby Ampong of Bien Unido is MPE Bohol 2018

Finally, another reason for the municipality of Bien Unido to smile and to rejoice!.  Abegail “Abby” Ampong who represented Bien Unido in Bohol’s search for its Miss Philippines Earth 2018 bet shone bright during the grand coronation and earned the right to spotlight her town and the province in the nationwide finals of Miss Philippines Earth 2018.

And the Search is on for Bohol's Bet for Miss Philippines Earth 2018

 Catherine Tabaniag with Danise Duma

Bohol began sending an official candidate for Miss Philippines Earth in 2015 after Alturas Group of Companies was awarded the franchise to organize the province- wide search for Bohol’s representative.

The Bohol search had sent two worthy representatives already but it was only last year when Bohol’s bet finally made it as a top ten finalist.

With Panglao Mayor Nila Montero providing logistical and moral support and the whole town as cheerleader & morale booster, Catherine Cadayona Tabaniag, Panglao and Bohol’s bet to the 2017 national finals performed beyond expectations and had a stellar performance.

Aside from making the top ten, she was also adjudged Miss Talent- Gold Medal, Best in Evening Gown- Silver Medal and as Darling of the Press- Bronze Medalist. Her runner up finish in the pageant made her into an overnight sensation in Bohol and had a heroine’s homecoming.

Ms. Tabaniag’s impressive showing last year has attracted a lot of qualified Boholanas to screen for this year’s Miss Philippines Earth- Bohol Search. Nine Bohol- based beauties showed up for the 1st screening of candidates at the Island City Mall Activity Center.

Your Roving Eye, pageant guru Michael Tago and Catherine Tabaniag herself composed the judging panel during the screening held at the ICM Activity Center yesterday afternoon.

Bohol's Bet Prepares for National Pageant

 Charysse Jane Roferos: Bohol’s bet
I met our newly- crowned Miss Philippines Earth- Bohol 2016 at the ICM after Palm Sunday Mass and all I can say is wow. If she won’t make the Top 15 in the national finals, then I don’t know what will.

I have a strong feeling that Charysse will figure strongly in the nationals slated on June 12, 2016, RP Independence Day. She is not only gorgeous but also smart, a great combo in pageants especially in Miss Philippines Earth where speaking skills are a must.

I shared with her that she has to believe in herself especially when she goes to Manila and meet the other girls for that would be the moment when she can finally size up the competition.

At any rate, I told her not to be too focused on the competition but to enjoy the experience, make new friends and represent the Loonanons well and make Bohol proud.

Based on previous editions of the pageant, it is the moral and financial support that make the difference. Since she will be leaving for Manila on April 17, it will be a long two- month stay there and that means expenses. Hoping the LGU and the province and some well- meaning private donors can help extend their support for our lovely Miss.

It would be a shame and a pity to see that potential winner go to waste because of lack of support. I’m happy to find out though that Charysse has been extended some help already by Mayor Lopez of Loon. Hope that would be the start.
