When an earthquake devastated some parts of Bohol that led to a tragic loss of lives and the destruction of property, the outpouring of help from Boholanos and non- Boholanos alike especially from those who are based abroad has been overwhelming
Saudi- based Rick Tugonon, my grade school and high school classmate from Divine Word College- Tagbilaran City, was one of those who responded to our calls for assistance
Barely a week after the tragedy that befell Bohol, Rick didn't waste time to contact us and to be appraised of the situation here
Soon after, Ric, together with Padyak Riyadh & Riyadh Raging Riders as Event Organizers sounded off the call for a fundraiser.
Dubbed "Bikerz for Bangon Bohol" and held at the Camel Trail1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia yesterday November 1, the Ride for a Cause was attended by more than 50 MTB bikers from Riyadh
The event merited media attention with the The Filipino Channel (TFC) covering the event
According to Rick "
It was simultaneously happening in Jeddah with other bike groups.
On this day all bikers were united for this purpose to raise funds for the Bohol earthquake victims.
As one of the officers of Padyak Riyadh and with the full cooperation & commitment of my colleagues, we were able to organize the event without any problems in such a short time.
One of our members, Eleuterio Rizon is from Sagbayan and his house was one of those that were badly damaged by the quake
Here are some highlights of the fundraiser

Although Rick told me not to mention their fundraiser, I feel this is the least that we, Bohol- based volunteers can do so that their efforts to reach out can also be acknowledged
Proceeds from the event will go the common funds generated for the Weekend Warriors' repair and rebuilding efforts
