Meet the Judges of Miss Bohol 2015

Judging a beauty competition especially a pageant that has exacting standards is not for the faint of heart nor for those with a narrow and bigoted view on beauty.

 Your Blogger joined Miss Bohol 1992 & presently, Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Agency Director in Singapore Celevel Ranoco Butler and Bohol First Lady Pureza Chatto for a photo opp with some of the top- caliber judges of Miss Bohol 2015. For this reason, the Miss Bohol 2015 Pageant organizers invited a diverse group of accomplished individuals who were up to the task of selecting a winner who would be an effective & credible spokesperson for Miss Bohol’s advocacy projects and would be perfect as an ambassadress of goodwill.

A meet and greet was scheduled at the Ocean Suites beside the Bool Blood Compact Site in the morning of the pageant date. This is where the judges were able to interview the girls and get to know the girls really up close and personal. The organizers made sure that the mood was jovial and casual so the girls were more relaxed as they revealed facets of their personalities.

Among the judges were Patrick Henry Aquino, Philippine women's basketball team coach who steered the National University Lady Bulldogs to the UAAP championship

Wesley Villarica is a Canon Brand Advertising, Editorial Photographer, and Director in Manila, Philippines working in Parallax Studio, Makati. In 2011, he was given the distinction of being awarded as one of Canon’s Crusaders of Light.  In 2013, he graduated from an intensive film studies course in New York University and went on to become a director for commercials and music videos. 

His work can be found in various local, regional and international ad campaigns and press releases, and his extensive client list includes multinational corporations and brands such as Nokia, Nike, Globe, Smart, PLDT, Monde Nissin, Greenwich, Jollibee, San Miguel Corp., Chowking, HSBC, URC, Citibank, Splash, Belo Medical Group Megaworld, Yahoo!, ABS-CBN & GMA

Among his celebrity clients were Manny Pacquiao, Anne Curtis, John Lloyd Cruz, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Jericho Rosales, Bea Alonzo, Iza Calzado, Lovi Poe, as well as top bands like The Click Five, Rivermaya, Cheese, Parokya ni Edgar, Up Dharma Down & 6 Cyclemind.

Hon. Roman T. Romulo is a lawyer, public servant, and currently the Representative for the Lone District of Pasig City, Philippines. Lawyer, public servant and humanitarian, Roman Romulo was born to a family firmly founded on a tradition of excellence and service to the Filipino.

He follows a great tradition in service to the Filipino, as the grand-nephew of Filipino statesman, Pulitzer Prize winner and first and only Filipino President of the United Nations General Assembly Carlos P. Romulo, and the son of former Executive Secretary, Secretary of Finance, Budget Secretary and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alberto Romulo

Shalani Carla San Ramon Soledad-Romulo better known as Lani Soledad and Ate Sha is a Filipina politician and TV personality. Soledad was a member of Valenzuela City council from second district from 2004 to 2013. Presently, she devotes her time to supporting husband Cong. Roman Romulo with his causes and aids him in attending to his responsibilities.

2009 JCI National President  JCI Sen. Fulbert C. Woo (JCI Iloilo) was also a judge. A modern day hero and a DWCT HS graduate and now US Air Force Major George Apalisok also made it as a pageant judge.
