Meet the 2013 Miss Universe China: Ye Jin

WILL YE JIN MAKE A SPLASH IN RUSSIA?

A tall and svelte model named Ye Jin (Kim Jin Ye) was crowned Miss Universe China 2013 last September 28, 2013 at the Shanghai Jing An Shangri-La Hotel.

The beauty from Hebei is 25 years old and stands 1.78 m.

She will represent China in the upcoming Miss Universe 2013 pageant, scheduled for November 9th 2013 in Moscow, Russia.

HER RUNNERS UP:

Ye Jin’s court includes the first runner-up Lillian Liu, the second runner-up Alano Wang, the third runner-up Shanshan Zhang and the fourth runner-up Jennifer Wei.

Bohol Provl Administrators Cup Dragon Boat Regatta Winners

The Bohol Paddlers Association Inc. (BPAi) staged the 1^st Bohol Provincial Administrator’s Cup Dragon Boat Regatta at the Tagbilaran City- Dauis Strait September 28, 2013

The whole- day water sport event kicked off with a coastal clean- up followed by a brief opening program held at the back of the historic Assumption Church in Dauis, Bohol

Eleven teams from all over the province competed in the regatta 200 M Sprints

3^rd           Panglao Police Dragons

4^th           Payaw B

Marisel Bumaat: 1980 DWCT Summer Queen

PAGEANTS DURING THE 80'S

Back then when Tagbilaran City was just a sleepy and quiet place where life was in perpetual slow motion, beauty pageants were some of the most anticipated events to look forward too

One such pageant was the Search for the 1980 DWCT Summer Queen.

DWCT of course refers to Divine Word College now Holy Name University. The competition focused on the college girls who were taking up summer classes that year

Marisel Bumaat, the eldest of the late Pampyong Bumaat and MaamOfelia Bag-ao Bumaat, was selected the fairest among the winsome ladies who competed during that one- time pageant held at the campus gymnasium

It was such a big event that even Tagbilaran City Mayor Jose Ma. Rocha took time off from his hectic schedule and accepted the invitation to crown the winning beauty

Among the ladies who competed were Virginia Timaan, Alice Paylado and my sister Marcel Gatal. Virgie was 1st RU and my sister Marcel Gatal was 4th RU
