Megan Young is Miss World Beach Fashion Finalist

FLASH NEWS:

Our very own Megan Young is one of the Top Eleven Finalists for the Beach Fashion Award, one of the Fast- Track Events in Miss World 2013 that will automatically give a semifinal spot to the special award winner

Instead of skimpy swimsuits, the candidates wore conservative sarongs in deference to the predominantly Muslim population of Indonesia, the host country

From 130 candidates from all over the world, the field was narrowed down to 33 contestants

The 33 Semi Finalists Were:

Curacao, Chile, Bahamas, France, Aruba, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Ecuador, Albania, Spain, Philippines, Denmark, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Japan, US Virgin Islands, China PR, Ghana, South Sudan, Cote D'Ivoire, Martinique, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy, Brazil, Guyana, Venezuela, England, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova

After the second round of the contest, the judges picked the Top 10. HOWEVER, the judges couldn't decide who to put through as the 10th finalist, so they put through 11 (there was a tie).

The Top 11 Finalists:

FRANCE, INDONESIA, JAMAICA, SPAIN, PHILIPPINES, CHINA PR, GHANA, UKRAINE, ITALY, BRAZIL & MOLDOVA

Not in Photo: Miss Jamaica & Miss Ghana

HEAVY FAVORITES:

The Philippines, Brazil & Spain are living up to their frontrunner status when all three of them made the Top Eleven

The most shocking news was the failure of Miss Venezuela and Miss Puerto Rico to land among the finalists

UP NEXT: PHOTOSHOOT:

The TOP 11 will now go on to a special Photoshoot to decide who will be the Beach Fashion Winner.

The Winner of course will be announced on the 28th of September @ the Miss World Final!

Good luck Megan!
